Dark Sky Energy Efficiency
Due to the fact that the city of flagstaff is home to the lowell observatory. In
the year 2001 Flagstaff adopted the responsibility of being a dark sky
community. Which creates strict rules on light pollution. This has benefited the
community as dark night city lighting codes have implemented efficient light
sources for outdoor lighting. With the lamp posts far between each other
requires less energy use to keep the city illuminated at night. Not that you
need it with the full view of the stars always above you.
