A Blissful world of Books By: Ms. ANUSHKA SINGH
Books! Books to some they act like a portal to a CLASS TEACHER : X
fantastical land and for some they are sleeping pills.
Whatever role it may play it never leaves their
spectators unsatisfied. Now a days there is a
disparity of avid readers in today's time's or to put it
in layman and clichéd terms, the present generation
does not read book and are more interested in
gadgets. Call me an orthodox but I feel no other
gadget can make you the enchanting smell of new
books, the crisp pages, memorable quotes and
many more captivating things that are in just book. It
is so magical that it takes you on a trip, every book
is a new trip. Books are not only guided with
treasure chests of knowledge but also a key to open
and escalate your imagination.
In the end I would like to conclude by quoting
remarkable lines said by Jhumpa Lahiri "That's the
thing about book. They let you travel without feet."

Why Science? By: Ms. SHILPI CHAKRAVERTY
Science is not just about memorisation of theories, formulas and CLASS TEACHER: 8A
vocabularies. In fact, Science is all about communication
strategiesand furthering knowledge in all spheres.
Can you imagine life without your cell phone? Can you image a
life without electricity? You could be cooking your food over
fires. You certainly would not be reheating dinners in your
microwave!
Therefore, science is important because it creates new
technologies. From self driving cars and martian rovers to origami
folded prosthetic limbs and even quantum computing, science has
ventured into all places unknown.
Science gives us the basic set of laws that help us to live on the
planet. It helps us to comprehend and interact with the world
around us.
Studying science results in a healthy dose of skepticism, which
can help kids to form their own opinions rather than taking those
of others as given.
Therefore, Science is all about persuing the world’s big questions
in specific ways.
As said by Carl Sagan -
“Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of
knowledge”.

It’s just a phase! Always be your own priority.
And remember, it’s just a phase
Somedays go boring
Just a phase
Some tiresome, some stressful
The end needs to be beautiful.
Some unexpectedly amazing.
It’s just a phase, my friend.

Just a phase.

Some mornings may begin with chaos

And perhaps be accompanied by perfect nights.

Remember, its just a phase.
And if things don’t go well

At the moment
Don’t give up ..... Just don’t
Don’t let anybody know

That beneath your strong and bold personality

Lies an emotional soul.

That gets affected by the slightest things

Always By: Anushka Srivastava
Always tell yourself Class 10
That no matter how worse things become

The ends, needs to be beautiful
Trust yourself even if the ene world doesn’t
Love yourself even if the one’s you love the most stop loving

Care about yourself even if nobody else does.

Always,

Annually Children’s day is celebrated on 14th of November. It is celebrated for making the birth By: Areej Fatima
anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He was India's first Prime Minister. He loved children Class 8A
dearly
and is fondly remembered as Chacha Nehru by them. After his death in 1964, his birthday was
declared as Children’s Day nation wide. On this special day, most schools across the country
celebrate it by organizing socio-cultural programmes for children. Some of the events include
poetry,
recitation, fancy dress competition, singing and dancing events, skits and plays for children.
Besides
refreshments, kids are also gifted toys, clothes, stationery, chocolates, toffees and other
interesting
goodies. Sometimes, they also watch child-friendly films and shows. The main purpose behind
the
Children’s Day celebration is to spread awareness about child care, child rights and child
education in
the country. As the Prime Minister, Nehru wanted to "create an atmosphere in the country
where the attention is constantly focused on children and their welfare”. He had also
established Children's Film Society India in 1955 so that Indian children could see themselves
represented. On 5th November 1948, the first Children's Day was observed as "Flower Day" by
the predecessor of Indian Council of Child Welfare (ICCW) to collect funds for United Nations
Appeal for Children (UNAC) through the sale of "flower tokens". On 30 July 1949, "Children's
Day" was widely celebrated and publicised through radio, articles, cinema, etc. His affection
and love for children was true. He once said “The children of today will make the India of
tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of our country”.

A TRIP I WILL NEVER FORGET

On 2 October, me and my family members went orrcha by train. It is a By: Kavya Patel
place known for historical sites and culture. At orrcha there was a get Class 8A
together of our family as it was my uncle’s engagement. On the day of
engagement we got ready and went to the resort with everyone. There
we were a part of ring ceremony and photoshoot and everything was
just like a fairy tale. Then we continued the program by dancing
followed by the dance of fiance and fiancee There we used to go and
watch sunrise at early morning and then we used to go and sit on the
banks of betwa river.
At evening , we used go and watch winter sunset view and then then
our favourite light and sound show at orrcha fort. This is a trip in
which we made a lot of memories with our cousins and offcourse did a
lot of Masti with them

Every year , on 14th November , our country celebrates the birth anniversary of By: Shaswat Singh
our first prime minister ‘Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’ as children’s day . He loved Class 8A
children dearly and is fondly remembered as Chacha Nehru by them. In 1964 ,
when Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru died , government of India declared his birthday as
children’s day . Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru thought that children of India are going to
be the next leaders of India . Hence , it is very important to provide them quality
education . The day highlights the significance of giving love, attention, and
affection to children.
Every school rejoices this day with many events like quizzes competition,
debates, cultural shows like dance, music, and drama. Teachers plan and perform
many cultural functions for the students. Chocolates and other sweet items are
distributed in the classroom to children. Schools are embellished with frills,
colored papers and good photographs to make the place look beautiful.
Children's Day may seem like a day that is meant only for the children to
celebrate their childhood but in reality, it is an initiative by everyone
participating in the celebration to educate people about the value and worth of
children in the society. It is celebrated to inform people about child rights and
make sure children get those rights in every sphere of their life. Only then, a
nation will be able to grow in a holistic manner.
