Unit 1.1 Present Simple Tense

In this unit you will…
1. Students can explain the meaning of the sentence with the Present Simple structure.
Tense
2. Students can write a sentence with the Present Simple Tense structure.
Can be both positive sentences, negative sentences, and questions
3. Students can use the Present Simple Tense correctly, in a grammatically correct manner.

Present แปลว่า ปจั จบุ นั ดังนั้น Present Simple Tense จงึ เปน็
ประโยคท่ีมีโครงสรา้ งแบบง่าย ๆ เพอ่ื ใชพ้ ดู ถงึ เหตุการณใ์ นปัจจบุ ันนั่นเอง
โดยมลี กั ษณะต่าง ๆ ดงั น้ี

1. ใชเ้ พื่อพดู ถงึ ความเปน็ จรงิ ในชวี ิตประจำวัน หรอื ความเป็นจริงตามธรรมชาติ ถึงแม้ว่า
เหตุการณน์ ้นั จะเป็นอดีตหรืออนาคตกต็ าม เช่น

The boy rings the doorbell. ( เด็กผ้ชู ายกดกริง่ ประตู )
Durian is the king of fruit. (ทเุ รยี นเป็นราชาผลไม)้
I go to my school every day (ฉันไปโรงเรียนเปน็ ประจำทุกวัน)

2. ใชเ้ พ่อื พูดถงึ เหตุการณ์ นิสยั หรือการกระทำทีเ่ กดิ ขึ้นซ้ำ ๆ บอ่ ย ๆ เป็นประจำทุกวัน
เช่น

I walk to school every day. (ฉันเดนิ ไปโรงเรยี นทุกวัน)

Present Simple Tense ใช้กับกริยาช่องที่ 1 เทา่ นัน้ โดยนำกรยิ าช่องที่ 1 ไปเตมิ ลงใน
โครงสรา้ งตอ่ จากประธาน โดยมขี ้อระวังอยู่นิดเดยี วคือ
ประธานเปน็ เอกพจน์ กรยิ าช่องที่ 1 ของ present simple tense ต้องเติม –s หรอื –es
ประธานเปน็ พหูพจน์ กริยาเป็นชอ่ งท่ี 1 ไม่เติมอะไรเลย

รูปแบบของประโยค Present Simple Tense
1.ประโยคบอกเลา่

โครงสร้างของประโยคบอกเล่า

Subject + Verb.1 + Object + (คำบอกเวลา)

ทัง้ น้ีคำกริยาช่องที่ 1 นั้นจะมีการเติม s หรอื es ถา้ หากประธานของประโยคเปน็ เอกพจน์ (He, She, It) แต่
ถา้ ประธานเป็น I, You หรือประธานพหูพจน์ (You (หลายคน), We, They) ให้คงรปู คำกริยาน้ัน ๆ ไว้
เช่นเดมิ

Example

I go to school by bus every morning.

(ฉันไปโรงเรียนโดยรถโดยสารประจำทางทุกเชา้ )

**ประโยคนปี้ ระธานคอื I แม้จะเปน็ เอกพจนแ์ ต่เป็นขอ้ ยกเว้น ดังกรยิ า go จงึ ไม่ตอ้ งเติม s

2. ประโยคคำถาม

โครงสรา้ งของประโยคคำถามใน Present Simple Tense มสี องรูปแบบคือ

1 : Verb to be + Subject + Object/สว่ นขยาย ?
ใช้เมอ่ื ในประโยคนนั้ มี V. to be (Is, Am, Are) ปรากฎอยู่ เชน่

She is my sister. Is she your sister ?

(หล่อนเป็นน้องสาวคุณหรือเปลา่ ?)
เมื่อเห็น V. to be ในประโยคใหน้ ำ V. to be ข้นึ ต้นประโยคนำหน้าประธานได้เลย เพยี ง
เท่านี้ก็จะกลายเป็นประโยคคำถาม (และอย่าลืมเปลี่ยนคำสรรพนาม จาก my เปน็ your)

2 : Verb to do + Subject + Verb.1 + Object + (คำบอกเวลา)?

ใช้เมื่อประโยคน้นั ไมม่ ี V. to be จึงต้องนำ V. to do ไดแ้ ก่ do กับ does เขา้ มาชว่ ย โดยข้นึ ต้น
ประโยคนำหนา้ ประธาน ซง่ึ มวี ิธกี ารใช้ที่แตกต่างกนั คือ Do ใช้นำหน้า I, You และประธานทเี่ ปน็ พหูพจน์
(You, We, They) สว่ น Does ใชน้ ำหน้าประธานทเ่ี ป็นเอกพจน์ (He, She, It) และคำกรยิ าคงรูปชอ่ งที่ 1
เหมือนเดิมโดยไม่ตอ้ งเตมิ s, es เช่น

They play football every Do they play football

ประโยคนีไ้ มม่ ี V. to be อยูใ่ นประโยค จงึ นำ V. to do มาใช้ขึน้ ตน้ ประโยคนำหนา้ they

ประโยคนำหน้า that cat หรอื ก็คอื it ซ่งึ เป็นประธานเอกพจน์ โดยคำกรยิ าคือ eat มีการ
ตดั s ออกในประโยคคำถาม

3.ประโยคปฏิเสธ

รูปแบบประโยคปฏิเสธใน Present Simple Tense มสี องรูปแบบคลา้ ยกบั รูปแบบประโยคคำถามคอื
1 : Subject + Verb to be + not + Object/สว่ นขยาย

ใชเ้ มอื่ ในประโยคน้ันมี V. to be (Is, Am, Are) ปรากฎอยู่ เช่น
I am your servant.

I am not your servant.
(ฉนั ไมไ่ ดเ้ ปน็ คนรบั ใชข้ องคณุ )
เมื่อเห็น V. to be ในประโยคให้เตมิ not ไวห้ ลงั V. to be ไดท้ ันที เพียงเท่านกี้ จ็ ะกลายเป็น
ประโยคปฏิเสธ

2 : Subject + Verb to do + not + Verb.1 + Object
แบบทสี่ องใช้เมื่อประโยคนน้ั ไม่มี V. to be จงึ ต้องนำ V. to do ได้แก่ do กบั does เขา้ มาช่วยแล้ว
ตามหลงั ด้วย not เพอ่ื บอกความปฏิเสธ สว่ นคำกรยิ าใหค้ งรปู ชอ่ งท่ี 1 เหมอื นเดิมโดยไม่ต้องเติม s, es เช่น

He watches television at
home.

He does not watch
television at home.
(เขาไม่ได้ดโู ทรทศั น์อยทู่ ี่บ้าน)
ประโยคนีไ้ มม่ ี V. to be อย่ใู นประโยค จงึ นำ V. to do นั่นก็คอื does มาเปน็ กรยิ าชว่ ยและตาม
