On behalf of the Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology Society (MASS), I would like to congratulate The MASS Chapter of UPM, co-organized by the Department of Physics, Selangor Education Department and the 12th Residential College UPM for organizing the International Materials Technology Challenges (iMTC) 8.0 and Innocreative Technology Challenge (ICTC 1.0) 2023. This program provides a valuable platform for students at various educational levels, researchers, and lecturers to exchange ideas and share their findings in the field of Solid State Science and Technology during the poster session. The exhibition session undoubtedly facilitates meaningful scientific discussions, fostering the generation of new research ideas and potential collaborations. Considering the significant number of participants, it is evident that this exhibition has the potential to become an annual event in the future. Moreover, this program offers an exceptional opportunity to network and establish connections with local experts who possess up-to-date knowledge of the latest advancements in the Materials field. Attendees can benefit from their insights and gain valuable information on new techniques and technologies. Lastly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the iMTC and ICTC organizing committee for their dedication and efforts in ensuring the success of this event. Thank you very much. Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Shaari President of The Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology (MASS) The MASS
Chairman Foreword From of iMTC8.0 & ICTC1.0 Page 4 Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wbt. and greetings. Welcome to the International Materials Technology Challenge (iMTC) 8.0 and Innocreative Technology Challenge (ICTC 1.0) 2023 organized by MASS Chapter UPM and co-organized by the Department of Physics, Selangor Education Department and the 12th Residential College Universiti Putra Malaysia. iMTC and ICTC are one-day events that aim to bring together schools, researchers, academic members, and industrial communities to discuss and share knowledge about the progress and challenges in various disciplines of fundamental and material technologies. This annual event showcases the faculty's ongoing commitment to contributing to the university's success as a research institution and its mission to be a leading center of learning and research. The objectives of this event are as follows: • Providing researchers with an opportunity to share their research ideas and results on a special platform that offers visibility for their work. • Allowing young researchers to connect and engage with senior researchers, enabling them to exchange ideas, gain new insights, and understand potential practical applications. • Recognizing and rewarding outstanding researchers. We hope that this program serves as a platform for exchanging information through mutual discussions and demonstrations among the participants. I would like to express my sincere gratitude and commend all the committee members for their dedication, tremendous support, and efforts in ensuring the smoothness and success of this event. Additionally, I extend my heartfelt thanks to our sponsors for their generous contributions, as without them, the success of this event would not have been possible. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Mustafa Awang Kechik Chairman of iMTC 8.0 and ICTC 1.0 2023
of iMTC8.0 & ICTC1.0 Director Foreword From Page 5 Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that this year marks the first time we have invited participants from secondary schools to join the ICTC program. This inclusion reflects our commitment to fostering interest and engagement in the field of material technology from an early stage. We believe that through iMTC 8.0 and the involvement of secondary school participants in the ICTC program, we can continue to promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and the advancement of material technology both locally and internationally. The program includes a wide range of topics on sustainable material design and technologies including Advances in Nanotechnology, Smart Materials and Sensors, Composite Materials, Materials for Energy Applications, Biomaterials and Medical Devices and other related physics, chemistry, engineering and technology fields. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Shaari (MASS President) , Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suriati Paiman (the Head of Physics Department) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Mustafa Awang Kechik as the Chairman of iMTC 8.0 & ICTC 1.0 2023 for their trust and aids towards the success of this programme. As the Director of the program, I am fully aware that the success of this event relies heavily on the dedication and hard work of the numerous individuals involved in planning and organizing both the technical program and the accompanying social arrangements. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed to making iMTC 8.0 & ICTC 1.0 2023 a resounding success. In particular, I would like to extend my warmest thanks to our sponsor, for their generous support and sponsorship for this event. Their contribution has been instrumental in making this program possible and ensuring its overall success. I would also like to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of the Organizing Committee members.
