Пізнай краще Ісуса Христа!

Що таке Євангеліє? Це більше, ніж книга, що розповідає про Ісуса
Христа. Євангеліє – це Добра Новина про Сина Божого, який при-
йшов у світ, щоб нас спасти. Євангеліє оповідає про події з життя Го-
спода Ісуса, передає Його слова та вчинки, які свідчать про те, що Він є
улюбленим Сином Божим, нашим Господом і Спасителем. А ще Єван-
геліє висвітлює зміст вчення, яке Він проповідував: про Божу любов до
людства, про Царство Небесне та про людей – дітей Божих, які йдуть
своїм життєвим шляхом, щоб осягнути небо.

Святе Письмо Нового Завіту містить чотири книги, які розповіда-
ють про життя Ісуса Христа. Їхніми авторами є євангелісти: св. Матей,
св. Марко, св. Лука і св. Йоан. Кожен з них вибрав певні слова та вчин-
ки Ісуса й об’єднав їх в окреме писання. Усі ці писання не є точною бі-
ографією, а насамперед свідчать про те, ким насправді є Ісус Христос.
Отже, ми маємо чотири історії, які становлять одне ціле, одне Єванге-
ліє про Сина Божого, який помер і воскрес із мертвих, щоб урятувати
нас. Євангеліє можна порівняти з піснею, яку співають на чотири го-
лоси. Кожен учасник виконує свою мелодію, але разом вони доповню-
ють одна одну і створюють одну прекрасну пісню.

Біблія для дітей, яку ти тримаєш у руках, розповідає про життя Ісуса
Христа. Вона складається з 27 частин, кожна з яких, зі свого боку, має
три розділи.

ЧИТАЮ. Цей розділ містить фрагменти Євангелія, викладені до-
ступною для юних читачів мовою.

РОЗУМІЮ. У цьому розділі можна знайти короткий коментар, який
допоможе краще зрозуміти описаний фрагмент Євангелія.

ДІЮ. Від слів потрібно переходити до дій. Зустріч з Ісусом в Єван-
гелії має формувати нашу поведінку, тому в цьому розділі є пропозиції
щодо конкретних дій.

Щоб полюбити Ісуса, треба спершу пізнати Його. Ця книжка допо-
може тобі познайомитися з Ісусом Христом, який має добру новину
для кожної людини: «Ти – дитина Божа, і ти маєш своє місце на небі.
Я – Твій Спаситель і дуже хочу привести тебе до вічного щастя. Впу-
сти Мене у своє серце і йди зі Мною!»

Getting to know Jesus Christ better

What is the Gospel? It is more than a mere book containing information
about Jesus Christ. The Gospel is the good news about the Son of God who
was born into the world in order to save humankind. The Gospel comprises
events from Jesus’ life, His words and His actions – all of which show that
He is the beloved Son of God, our Lord and Saviour. The Gospel is also con-
cerned with Jesus’ teachings – it tells us about God’s love for humankind,
the heavenly kingdom, and the people who are God’s children and who
walk their way through their lives to reach heaven.

The New Testament contains four books which detail the life of Je-
sus. These books were written by the Evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke
and John. Each of these authors picked out Jesus’ words and actions and
moulded them to form one separate story. The Evangelists’ works, however,
are not exact biographies – they are rather testimonies about who Jesus
Christ is. We have four stories, then, which constitute a single complete
work. These stories form one Gospel about Jesus Christ, who died and rose
from the dead in order to save each and every one of us. The Gospel can
be compared to a song that is sung in four parts: each singer has their own
melody, but all four voices complement each other and blend together to
form one beautiful song.

The children’s Bible you are holding in your hands tells of the life of Je-
sus. It is divided into twenty-seven parts, each consisting of three sections.

I  READ. This section contains extracts from the Gospel presented in a
way that young readers will find easy to follow.

I  UNDERSTAND. Here you will find a short commentary which helps
readers to improve their understanding of the extract from the Gospel.

I ACT. Words must be followed by actions. The meeting of the reader
with Jesus in the Gospel should influence our general behaviour, In this
section you will find suggestions for concrete action.

In order to get to love the Lord, we must first meet Him and get to know
Him. This book is aimed to help readers to get acquainted with Jesus Christ,
who has good news for every person. You are God’s child and you have your
own place in heaven. I am your Saviour and would love to lead you to eter-
nal happiness. Let me in into your heart and come with Me!

ЧИТАЮ

Г осподь Бог послав ангела Гавриїла до Марії, яка жила в
місті Назареті. Ангел прийшов до Неї і привітав такими
словами:

– Радуйся, благодатна Маріє! Господь з Тобою.
Марія трохи стривожилася, бо не знала, що це могло б
означати. Тоді ангел сказав:
– Не бійся, Маріє, бо Ти знайшла благодать у Бога.
У Тебе буде Син, і даси Йому ім’я Ісус. Він буде Сином
Всевишнього. Він стане великим Царем, і Царству Його не
буде кінця.
– Як же це станеться? – запитала Марія ангела.
– Дух Святий зійде на Тебе, – відповів Гавриїл. –
Господь своєю силою вчинить це чудо. Тому Син, який у
Тебе народиться, буде справді Сином Божим. Адже для Бога
немає нічого неможливого.
Тоді Марія відповіла:
– Я згодна. Я хочу служити Богові! Нехай станеться мені
за словом твоїм.

Annunciation

Luke 1:26-38

I READ

G od sent the angel Gabriel to Mary, who lived in a town
called Nazareth. When the angel came to Mary, he
greeted Her with these words:

‘Be joyful, Mary, you are full of grace. The Lord is with you.’
Mary was a little frightened when she heard such an unusual
welcome and began to wonder what it meant.
Then the angel said, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, because you
have been blessed by God. You will have a son and you will
name
him Jesus. He will be the Son of God Himself and will become
a great King, whose Kingdom will never end.’
‘How will this happen?’ Mary asked the angel.
‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you,’ answered Gabriel.
‘And God, by His power, will make this miracle happen.
Therefore, the son who will be born, will be the Son of God,
indeed. Because nothing is impossible for God.’
Then Mary said, ‘I agree. I want to serve the Lord. Let it be
with me as you have said.’

РОЗУМІЮ

Благовіщення було однією з найважливіших подій в історії світу.
Того дня могутній Бог став справжньою людиною, маленькою і слаб-
кою. Як і всі ми, Він також розпочав своє людське життя під серцем
Матері. Однак перш ніж це сталося, Бог говорив з Марією через ан-
гела Гавриїла. Він запропонував Їй стати Божою Матір’ю і чекав на Її
відповідь. Марія замислилась на мить, тому що ця незвичайна ситуа-
ція Її здивувала. Але погодилась, бо дуже любила Бога.

Господь звертається до людей з різними пропозиціями. Декого за-
охочує стати священиком, ченцем чи черницею. Іншим пропонує
створити власні родини і стати чудовими батьками, або ж жити самот-
ньо. Він запрошує усіх нас бути добрими людьми і ставати святими.
Така пропозиція, отримана від Бога, називається покликанням.

ДІЮ

Подумай про те, що Бог просить тебе зробити. На молитві попроси
Божу Матір допомогти прийняти пропозиції Бога і втілювати їх у своє-
му житті з любові до Нього.

The annunciation was one of the most important events in the history of
the world. On that day, the powerful God became a real, small and weak
man. Like every one of us, He started His earthly life underneath His moth-
er’s’s heart. Before that happened, however, God talked to Mary through
the the angel Gabriel. He proposed that she become God’s Mother and
waited for Her reply. Mary thought about it for a while because she was
very surprised with the unusual offer. Eventually she agreed because she
loved God very much.

God approaches other people with His propositions as well. He encour-
ages some of them to become priests or nuns. Sometimes wants other peo-
ple to have families and be great parents. Sometimes He wants them to live
alone. He invites all of us to be good and live a holy life. We call such a
proposition a ‘calling’ and every person receives this calling from God.

I ACT

Think about what God asks you to do. In your prayers, ask the Virgin Mary
to help you accept God’s propositions and help you carry them out in your life
out of your love for Him.
