Welcome to Colombo and
Intex South Asia !
When we combine the full
economic potential, South
Asia emerges as a major
manufacturing and trading
bloc. This is all the more
evident in the field of textiles and garments.
It is with this vision that we have organised Intex South Asia
and we have added a lot of passion and dedication with the
objective of bringing together suppliers and buyers from
across South Asia and other parts of the world on to a single
networking platform.
We truly believe that Intex South Asia would prove to be a
dedicated sourcing platform for apparel manufacturers from
South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East and other regions.
It would also create opportunities for fabric and accessory
manufacturers from all over the world to showcase their latest
collections and trends at this important industry event.
South Asia is considered as one of the biggest garmenting
hub of the world and recognized as one of the best
manufacturing, sourcing and distribution destinations for
garments, textiles, accessories and manufactures 80% of
the world’s brands. India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Pakistan
together exported garments worth US$ 49 billion in 2014-15
and are expected to reach US$ 84 billion by 2020. Therefore,
a dedicated sourcing platform like Intex South Asia was an
idea that had to happen.
We take this opportunity to thank the industry trade bodies,
industry leaders, the exhibitors, the buyers and the media
for sharing our vision and making Intex South Asia a true
industry event of the Region.
Wishing you successful participation and sourcing.

Rajesh Bhagat Arti Bhagat
Managing Director Director

It is with great pleasure that I contribute
this message for the Intex South Asia
2015, exhibition in Colombo.
Intex South Asia 2015 organised by
Worldex India Exhibition and Promotion
Pvt. Ltd. for the first time in Sri Lanka,
provides a one stop comprehensive
sourcing & trading platform for apparel
manufacturers, importers, buying houses
and brands. This event will also create a unique opportunity
to connect and source a wide range of innovative, trendy
and high performance fabrics and accessories from quality
suppliers of major textile destinations in the world such as
India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand and Korea.
Given the importance of creating opportunities for the
Sri Lanka Apparel Industry for sourcing high end innovative,
quality raw materials, EDB joined hands with Worldex India
Exhibition and Promotion Pvt. Ltd., in organising Intex South
Asia 2015 as the Co-organiser.
Apparel industry is the main export industry in Sri Lanka and
major part of raw material i.e., fabrics & accessories required
for the industry are imported from countries such as China,
Pakistan, India, etc. This event will certainly facilitate the
Sri Lankan apparel manufacturers to source their fabric and
accessory requirement under one platform.
I congratulate Worldex India Exhibition and Promotion Pvt.
Ltd., for organising Intex South Asia 2015 and wish the
exhibition all success.
