Select foods that are organic and varied in colors. Berries are high in vitamin C and antioxidants, which help to
remove free radicals from the body and help with reducing inflammation. Leafy greens such as kale are also
rich in antioxidants and minerals. Bananas are high in potassium, vitamin c, and B6. Men can greatly benefit
from whipping these ingredients into a smoothie daily to boost prostate and overall health. Fatty fish such a
salmon, Brazil nuts which are high in selenium and vitamin e, watermelon which is a great source of
lycopene, saw palmetto herb and antioxidant rich green tea are all great for prostate health.
While food shopping, be sure to spend the majority of your time in the produce section of the store and avoid
packaged/processed foods and dairy. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to flush out toxins, prevent con-
stipation and promote healthy urination. Work on removing soda, coffee, and energy drinks from your diet.
And men, learn to take time for yourself, whether it’s going for a walk or run, hitting the gym, doing yoga, or
sitting quietly while meditating or deep breathing, learning to de-stress is foundational to proper health. Re-
member, self care is the best care.
