Message from Managing Director
Dear Colleagues,
Our company and country is going through one of its most
challenging time. It will take intelligent team effort & a lot of luck to
bring both back to normal.
Mr. Mohit Oswal A large number of our customers had been shut down for nearly 2
Managing Director months. Some have started to limp back to partial production after
mid may. Demand for vehicles is at its lowest in decades. This throws
up unique challenges for us. Our goods in transit and stocks in
customer warehouse and ours, have become too much as there is no
demand. Still there are parts that customer is projecting that they
will need. We are producing and shipping these parts, but there is no
guarantee that the parts will be used when they reach.
In addition there is a possibility that our customers will keep producing and we may have to shut down
if infections rise. Or that the customer may have to shut down for the same reason while we are still
running. These are extremely abnormal conditions and there are risks both with over production and
shortages. However the risk of over production is easier to manage and has less long term impact. The
good news is that no customer line has been effected due to us.
While North America is trying to come back to normal, Brazil and European customers remain shut.
There is also a lot of hope on the Chinese economy that is starting to show signs of good recovery. The
Indian OEMS are still grappling with both lack of demand and a disrupted Supply chain. You will be
happy to know that we were able to get production permission well ahead of others and were able to
start production in time to meet the customers May projections. A lot of you have been working very
hard to ensure that we do this with care and safety.
Our 1st priority is the safety of each and every one of us and for that all of us are responsible. In order
of priorities the next is cost & Capital expenditure saving. Every one of us needs to focus on this as we
all need to contribute in protecting JOBS no cost is too small to save. The working conditions have
changed and we need to adapt. This is a war like situation and we cannot and should not expect peace
time privileges.
Mohit Oswal

Message from Director
Dear All,
In this Roop bulletin, I am going to share information & my
learning. Roopteam has got for making of IMT Uni-2 in IMT
Manesar.
It all started in August 2016, to the plant commissioned in January
2019 &had first PPAP by customer in February 2019. It is
happened because of the Roop team hard work and their efforts. I
further add here that this was first of its kind plant conceived &
commissioned by Roop auto which has end to end automation
with equipment best possible from world over.
We had started production by 3rd week of February 2019 & started Mr. P.K. Salhotra
having issues to attain the required production committed to Director- Technical
customer.
The issues & efforts put in by Roop team with our suppliers gave us lot of learning, few important of
which I will summarize below;
-Equipment must have PDI, means Pre-Delivery Inspection thoroughly before handing over to
production for trial runs, reason during transportation lot of misalignment & minor damages happen
which mostly is ignored gives rise to unusual issues when equipment starts production.
-Follow the rule which is one of the major issues perpetually we face with teams working on the
project, meaning plant should run with procedure & systems laid down rather choosing to manage
things on your own way. This gives issues which has no explanation to customers with automation,
like operation missing, assy parts missing, machines mal functioning which gave us huge lot of
problems at our customer & end customer.
-There are many more learnings which I will share in subsequent Roop Bulletin.
Today & after 7 to 8 months of working of team ROOP we are not only being able to meet
requirement of customer but also reduced line cycle time from 51 sec to 44.5 sec. & Roop team
further trying to improve cycle time.

Message from Director
Dear Roop Auto family,
My message comes to you in the most unprecedented times of COVID 19. I
had never imagined that “Work From Home” will become the New Normal
for most of us. Today infact marks 2nd month anniversary since this
Lockdown was announced and it’s reasonable to say that our lives have
surely changed.
A time when we ended up being more with our families inside our homes,
we often wondered if things will get back to how they were before.
Friends, my guess is same as yours.
Having said that, it’s initiatives like RoopVaartalap that bring us all back
together.
Mr. Gaurav Jain This 13th Edition of our Newsletter couldn't have come at a better time
Director- HR & P&A when we all want to be associated with a bigger cause. A cause we call
#RoopAutolife.
Last year we saw sluggish movement in both domestic and International Auto Industry demand. Our new plant in IMT that
we all were excited about has been running smoothly now and it has been a unique journey for many of us who had to
shuttle between multiple locations. My thanks and gratitude goes out to each one of them. 2019-20 also marks the year
when we received maximum awards and recognition in industry. Truly a proud moment for all of us.
Our CSR activities under Roop VK Jain Foundation is something I am personally very proud of. Our initiatives on education,
women empowerment and community development gained maximum momentum so far and had a never before like
impact.
I am happy to share that we were able to continue these efforts in COVID 19 lockdown times too. I am sure you all are
aware of the same.
Friends, as we head towards the New Normal, I believe that each one of us can make a difference towards making Roop
Auto better by learning new ways of being more efficient, productive and being cost conscious. Every penny saved will be
needed and appreciated at present. I want all of you to rethink once again and come up with solutions where you can
continue to WFH, ensure Business Continuity keeping costs to a bare minimum.
We all are in this together.
We all will get out of this together.
I hope to see all of you in office at some point in time with renewed vigor, enthusiasm, and positive perspective towards
making your company better.

WHAT TO WRITE AND WHERE TO WRITE
A Story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument,
and one friend slapped the other one in the face.
The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED
ME IN THE FACE.
They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got
stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.
After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him,” After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you
write on a stone, why?’
The other friend replied” When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can
erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no winds can ever
erase.

the tools which makes ones living. It is believed that by placing these
implements n front of the Divine on this day will ritually purify the tools. Our
