In a year that’s been full of bubbles and popped bubbles, ups and downs,
openings and closings and way too much screen time, we are looking forward to
welcoming you to Queens Coast. If you’re looking for outdoor adventure, connection
with nature, space, fresh air and room to roam, look no further than Queens Coast!
In a province full of natural beauty, we humbly think Queens shines the brightest.
From our richly diverse Acadian forests, glimmering freshwater lakes and powerful
rivers to our exquisite coastline, nature and adventure abounds in every corner
of Queens. Follow in the ancient path of the Mi’kmaq and paddle down historic
waterways; star gaze under our dark night skies; explore the many freshwater lakes;
hike, walk, or bike through our beautiful parks and trails; spend a day at the beach,
surfing, splashing, or simply reading a book. Why choose though, why not stay for a
week or two and do it all! Go home, or don’t (we’re always happy to welcome new
residents!), feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
While you’re here, show local some love. Businesses have had it tough this year,
your support is critical to our local accommodations, shops, cafes, restaurants, and
brewery. Shop, eat and enjoy all that Queens Coast has to offer. But please, keep
safety in mind, and follow all provincial and business health guidelines.
We encourage you to explore, when you can, and to venture just a little further
to discover the unrivalled natural beauty of Queens Coast. As we say in our tagline,
come and “seek nature’s rewards”. We know you won’t be disappointed.

Top 5 things to
1. Beaches, Beaches, Beaches!
Queens Coast boasts some of the best beaches in Nova Scotia. With more than
200 kilometres of coastline, we have an abundance of pristine, white sand beaches.
Whether you like splashing around in the waves, poking around the rocks and
tide pools to see what you can find, are an avid sandcastle-maker, a bird watcher
(you might even see an endangered Piping plover!), a surfer, a stand-up paddle
boarder, a kayaker, or just a sunbather … there’s something for everyone at the
beach. So grab a blanket and pick up a picnic at one of our local eateries and
make a day of doing what you love at the beach.
More details about our spectacular beaches are on page 10.
2. Lighthouses
The Peggy’s Cove lighthouse may be the most photographed lighthouse in the
province, but we have SIX of “Peggy’s Sisters” dotted along Queens Coast! Fol-
low the Lighthouse Route signage to visit some of these poignant places. Some
of our lighthouses are still in operation as stalwart beacons of light and security
as they have been for a hundred years. Others are more easily visited, including
Fort Point Lighthouse Park in Liverpool, where you can climb up inside and toot
the hand-cranked foghorn!
You’ll see our lighthouses marked on the Queens County map on page 46, and
in more detail on page 37.

do in Queens!
3. A weekend “away”
Tired of being at home? Why not book a weekend “away” at one of our many
accommodations? From heritage inns in Liverpool to iconic beach resorts to
lakeside cottages and campgrounds, there is a place for every preference and
budget in Queens Coast.
More details about camping can be found on page 18, and other accommodations
are on page 40.
4. Kejimkujik National Park and
National Historic Site
Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site is a gentle wilderness of rolling
wooded hills and glistening lakes and rivers. It is also packed with exciting things to do
and see. As an antidote to quarantine restrictions, come to Kejimkujik, stretch, take a
deep breath, and reset – the fresh air and all the room to roam are just what you need!
Kejimkujik is a Dark-Sky Preserve – you will not believe the unfettered brilliance
of the night sky views!
Learn about the living culture of the Mi’kmaq who have millennia of history in
this place, and understand its significance as a National Historic Site.
More details about things you can do in Kejimkujik are on page 20.
5. Parks, T rails, Paddles
We encourage you to explore off the beaten path. Seek nature’s rewards in our
beautiful parks, trails, lakes and rivers. They’re perfect for family fun days, thrilling
adventures or quiet solitude.
If you’ve never walked through Pine Grove Park in early summer, you’re missing
out! You’ll be charmed by the 54-acre park and its display of flowering rhododen-
drons, azaleas, and magnolias planted in the towering woods among the Lady’s
slipper orchids. Along with the scenic views of the Mersey River, picnic areas, and
well-maintained trails, kids will delight in discovering all the painted rocks hidden
along the trails!
More details about our parks and trails are on page 26.
Become part of millennia-old heritage and paddle through our rivers and pris-
tine lakes. Whether it’s an hour of kayak instruction or a week-long guided back-
country canoe trip following the paddle strokes of the Tent Dwellers, Queens Coast
is a paddler’s paradise. More details about paddling and routes are on page 14.
