KUNAL RUPAREL
President
“Beginnings are somewhat intimidating and endings are generally sad, but it’s everything
in between that makes the journey worthwhile!”
This line perfectly sums up my 4 glorious years at H.R. College and especially The Sports
Council!
It all started with a Sports Quota interview and it would have ended perfectly with a
Farewell speech had Covid-19 not had its own plan!
At first, this place barely had any significance to me but after knowing the true essence
of the work this Council does and its far-reaching impact, I immediately got engaged in
all its activities, giving my everything!
I exactly knew what wonders this place had in store for me, and rightly so. Because for
me, The Sports Council not only caters to the well-being of its players but it also has a
very strong influence on its members, enhancing their personal growth, overall
development, leadership skills, and what not!
However, all of this comes with a lot of challenges, responsibilities, and sacrifices of its
own, but for those who thrive and survive in such situations, they will definitely find this
place, the place to be at!
To conclude, the Council and the College activities have given me innumerable
memories, new bonds, friendships, experiences and lessons worth remembering lifetime!
But there's nothing more satisfying than to have enjoyed and lived my college life to the
fullest, have a positive impact at my workplace and to leave college as a somebody who
entered as a nobody!

from our members...
NIKESH DARJI I joined The Sports Council in my SYJC on the recommendation
of one of my close seniors, Rajat Surve. Once I started working in The
Vice President Sports Council, I found this place and the people here really supportive
and encouraging who would treat everyone equally! As the year passed
by I got my first opportunity as the Asst. Event Head of the inaugural
event H.R. Premier League, where I learnt the entire process of
organizing an event. There was no looking back from that event, as I
went on to become the Degree College Head and the Vice President of
the Council in the coming years! From being an introvert kid to a
confident person who can talk to anyone now, the Council has changed
my life entirely!
It has improved my communication skills, given me my own identity,
helped me make multiple friends, contacts and so on! These 4 years of
my Council journey have been priceless and made me enjoy my college
life to the fullest!
One of the best decisions I have ever made was of joining The Sports KRISHNA SHARMA
Council and actively participating in all the activities of the Council. I
started enjoying the company of the people around me and I was Head Student Co-ordinator
always more and more excited and keen to work. Working in the
Council has given me experiences which I never had before and also
allowed me to learn new skills. It has brought the best out of me. I
have been a volunteer, part of the Sub-Head Committee and part of
the Head Committee. From giving an interview to taking interviews
for the Council, I have surely come a long way. I can proudly say that I
have enjoyed my college life.
RAUNAK DAMLE The Sports Council of HR College was truly a life changing
experience not because it helped me achieve laurels or gain
Sub Head Committee Member accolades but it paved a way to understand the meaning of a fit and
healthy mental life. My journey in college started from being a Sports
Quota recruit to learning everything in college. The Sports Council
gave me an identity in college. It helped me focus on my sporting
career as well as being a committee member. That’s how great the
structure was, where I got to organize National events and represent
for National Events at the same time. At this stage, all I would wish is
to go back to my first year and be that clumsy recruit again!

SHEFALI THAKARE Sports does not build character, it reveals it! And so does The Sports
Council. I am not an athlete or a sportsperson but yet I am a happy
Creatives In-Charge member of The Sports Council. My years here were challenging and
equally amazing. There were testing times where I had to prove my
potential, not to anyone else but to myself and I think with the help of
my other fellow members I excelled in the responsibilities entrusted to
me. The 2 years that I was made the CL/ACL for Numero Uno, I learnt
teamwork, responsibility, stress management and coordination.
Council puts you through stressful situations and there were times
when I felt frustrated and agitated but then in the end it was all worth
it. All our late night work for the Sports day and the ‘pushing our limits’
for every event taught me that nothing is impossible. The entire
experience has taught me a lot and has gifted me friends whom I will
cherish for a lifetime.
Home - that’s what the Council has been for me. Initially I had joined the
Cascade Club because of my inclination towards cultural activities. But
as my FYJC year passed I realized that the professionalism Council
pursued in their work was second to none and that this was the perfect
place to spend the rest of my college life. Recently, the largest intra-
collegiate festival of the College, Talent Parade, took place. I was made
the ACL representing The Sports Council. The opportunity to be the
ACL and at the same time dance for the Council made this experience
even more gratifying. Our efforts and dedication helped us win the title.
I have learned a lot this year, especially through Talent Parade. I’ve
learnt that every minute thing has to be done responsibly and SIMRAN KHETWANI
professionally and it’s all thanks to The Sports Council. Yes, it’s been a
P.R. & Marketing Assistant
short yet a memorable journey.
SAURABH LOHIYA It was based on my friend Rahul Budhani's recommendation that I joined
the Council during the admission process of 2019-20. Since then, my
Logistics Assistant journey here has been packed with having fun, making new bonds,
experiencing college life and learning new and different things! When
the Core Committee was announced, I couldn’t have fathomed the
amount of significance it would have on me. From the wonderful seniors
who, on multiple occasions, taught me that even the minutest of details
matter, to teaching me the importance of professionalism, to not losing
their cool when I missed my deadlines, to staying in college for 18 hours
and pulling an all-nighter before our flagship event, to becoming the
ACL for Junoon, the Council has taught me a lot in this one single year.
The year that went by has created a lot of memories for me, which I will
cherish for a long time to come.
