Bentley Electric Concept EXP 100 GT

On 10 July 2019, 100 years to the day after the Bentley brand was founded, we
unveiled a new approach for the future of Extraordinary Journeys.To bring this vision
to life, we created a radical new concept car. The Bentley EXP 100 GT explores how
grand touring could look in 2035. Inspired by the elements of travel – the light above
you, the air around you and the ear th beneath you – it is designed to stimulate all the
senses to enhance the wellbeing of everyone who travels in it. Bentley’s vision for the
future star ts by creating spaces that make every journey extraordinary.

This is immediately apparent in the design of the Bentley EXP 100 GT. Its 5.8-metre
body has a dramatic new face, while two-metre wide doors open upwards to create
a real sense of arrival.The interior takes Bentley craftsmanship in a new direction by
seamlessly fusing sustainable materials with technology. It incorporates new directions
being explored by Bentley, including the use of light in creating a wellness-enriching
environment and Adaptable Biometric Seating that adds to the feeling of wellbeing.

The future of Bentley innovation is all about balance. We believe it should nur ture
both the individual and the world around them. To enhance a feeling of wellbeing,
the EXP 100 GT uses air curation to bring in fragrances from the natural world while
keeping city pollution out. Intelligent technology is also designed to disappear from
view when you want a more mindful experience.

GRAND TOURING REBORN

Grand touring has always been at the heart of what Bentley stands for – and always
will be. The EXP 100 GT showcases a future that offers fully autonomous electric
driving alongside the ability to take the wheel and enjoy the exhilarating performance
that is an essential part of the Bentley DNA.

It also explores the idea of using Ar tificial Intelligence to curate your journey according
to your preferences, with a choice of four modes. Capture and Re-Live modes can
store and replay the sights and sounds you experience, Enhance mode optimises the
driver’s capabilities and Cocoon mode creates a tranquil space.

switch to electric

The future looks quieter and cleaner on
the islands’ roads with more and more of us
ditching the diesel and petrol and making the
switch to electric vehicles.

Figures produced by Emu Analytics, a leading
data science and software company show there
will be more than a million EVs registered in
the UK by 2020, up from 150,000 in 2018.

The majority of pure EVs have a range of
between 100 and 200 miles, making them the
ideal drive for the islands’ roads. While the UK
might be struggling right now with a lack of
charge points,when it’s time to power up,you’re
never going to be far from one in Jersey or
Guernsey. We’ve got them on our forecourts,
they are in all the big car parks and hotels are
offering them to their guests too.

Here at Jacksons we’ve invested heavily in our
electric infrastructure, ensuring our workshops
are geared up and all our staff, both on the sales
and aftersales front, are fully trained to cater
for the rapid growth in this exciting market.

The Audi E-TRON is jam packed with tech from quattro all-wheel-drive and Matrix LED lights to
self-parking technology. It also offers a range of Audi connect systems, including the e-tron route
planner which calculates routes, not only showing charging stations but their estimated charge
times too before calculating arrival times.
The EQC is a unique new design for Mercedes-Benz with a black panel radiator grille, LED
wraparound band at the front and rear and widescreen display.This electrified Mercedes offers
silence, efficiency and of course Mercedes-Benz style.
Meanwhile Jaguar’s IPACE delivers an instant torque with sports car agility.It’s a highly aerodynamic
vehicle with low drag, integrated technology and plenty of space. ItsTouch Pro Duo infotainment
system makes it simple to control all the car’s technologies and 4G Wi-Fi capability is standard -
keeping drivers in touch with the digital world.

Green Car at the 2019 World Car Awards!

September 2019 sees the Porsche Taycan launch onto the electric market. An
exciting electric sports car which allows drivers to sprint from 0-60 mph in
around 3 seconds!

Meanwhile the Electric MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman are built with the
same iconic MINI design and legendary responsive handling and are equipped
with AC for easy home charging and DC for super-fast charging on the go.
They’ll be zooming into our showroom next spring.

All these electric models boast immediate torque and premium performance but with
lower fuel and maintenance costs than traditional powered vehicles and of course,
without all the negative emissions. The electric future is an exciting one with Bentley
having just unveiled its all electric-limo to mark the brand’s centenary and to highlight the
technologies that we could see on the road in the next 15 years.

65kWh installed capacity using over 5600 lithium-ion 18650

Supporting local charities throughout the Islands

Jacksons in the running to
support Headway again

Fuelled by the success of this summer’s big fundraiser, the team at Jacksons are gearing up
to support Headway Jersey’s charity run again next year.
Hundreds took to the roads of St. Brelade and St Peter to race in the new 10k run for adults,
along with the 3k run for children which took part on Les Quennevais track on Sunday 23rd
June and helped raise £5,300 for islanders affected by a brain injury and their carers.
A selection of Jacksons’ prestigious cars lined the course which started at Les Quennevais.
200 adults ran towards St Peter, past the Jacksons showroom, St George’s School, St Peter’s
Parish Hall and St Peter’s FC before finishing back at the sports centre.
Jacksons test drove the course for themselves with their own team running while their non-
runners helped marshal the race.
Sam Maher came home first in the mens’ race with a winning time and new PB of 32.56,
while Lucy Niemz, a runner from the UK was the first lady across the finish line in 39.55.
Headway member Paul Sharkey hand crafted stunning bespoke trophies especially for the
event from a variety of car parts, creating a unique memento for the individual and team
winners in the race.

Meanwhile all those taking part in the 10k race were given a tee shirt and medal.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Andrew Searle, Head of Business at Jacksons said, “We
were delighted to support this exciting new race and a fantastic local charity that provides
life changing services to so many islanders.We are committed to playing an active role in the
community and we had a great team who got involved and really enjoyed the day! We’re all
looking forward to doing it all again next year!”
Bryce Alford, Headway Jersey’s Fundraising and Events Manager said, “The feedback we
have had from the race has been excellent. Runners said the support from the large number
of marshals along the route was really appreciated.The race had a ‘big event feel’ with a race
village atmosphere which was really brought to life by the Jacksons vehicles at the finish and
the mobile display unit which acted as the podium for the presentations.We would also like
to thank the Parishes of St. Brelade and St. Peter for their generosity in allowing us to hold
the race.”
The charity plans to stage next year’s event at the end of June.
Headway Jersey has over 150 survivors of brain injury registered with them as members
and up to 70 who access their services on a weekly basis.
