JOB-SPECIFIC ONBOARDING CHECKLIST
A job-specific onboarding checklist is provided to new hires as part of their onboarding
journey. This document is intended to help them focus the information being presented,
ask relevant questions, and guide their experience along the path of the company’s
onboarding framework.
ACADEMY PROGRAMS PAGE 28
JOB-SPECIFIC TRAINING TRACKER
Managers have been provided with a training framework spreadsheet to assist in formally
documenting their training processes. This spreadsheet has three tabs:
1. FRAMEWORK
The Framework tab includes all the information provided to new hires withing their
Job-Specific Onboarding Checklist. There are also empty sections for the role specific
content. For each, an overall learning objective is listed, along with the topics
covered in meeting that objective and general guidelines for when those topics
should be delivered and applied.
2. SCHEDULE
The Schedule tab provides a framework for the first week of onboarding a new hire,
as well as key points along the six-month onboarding journey (i.e. Week 2, start VBO
Knowledge Level 1 training, etc.).
3. PROFICIENCY
The company’s overall goal with onboarding is to have the new hire reach 80%
proficiency within their role by six months of employment. How a hiring manager
chooses to assess proficiency is up to them, but the assessment results are provided
in the 1-5 scale used in the associated career path document.

BUSINESS UNIT CAREER PATHS
At Alter Domus, we strive to make the personal and professional growth and development
of our employees a priority. We understand how important it is to be transparent about
what career opportunities are available, what’s expected at each level, and what’s required
to get to the next level.
Taking these points into consideration, we have joined forces with Business Unit Leaders to
provide employees with a more defined view of what a career path might look like. Each
career path document outlines behavioral and functional competencies, job duties and
responsibilities, training requirements, and what is expected at each level.
