A New Year!!

Let’s welcome the Year with a smile,
Let’s take it, an extra mile,

A New Year always has something great,
Happiness, stress, maybe a Birthday Cake,

Most of us make resolutions,
But do we ever, try to accomplish them,

A goal, targets are always good,
But most have misunderstood,

Every year, should pass with happiness,
Make yourself feel handiness,
Let’s all enjoy the new year,

Improve, have fun, let’s leave the fear.

A new year, a fresh start

A chance to make a brand-new start
To live and love with all our heart
To chase our dreams, make them a reality
To be the best version of ourselves, that we can be
The old year is gone, and a new one is here
A time for joy, and a time for cheer
A time to celebrate, and a time to reflect
On the memories we've made, and the connections we've
kept
As we turn the page, and start a new
Here's to the new year, and all it will bring
May it be filled with joy, love, and everything
Happy New Year, and best wishes to you
hoping all your dreams come true

How does the full moon affect our
emotions?

The moon is a very complex place and yet we know
more about the surface of the moon than we know
about that of earth! There are many phases of the moon
that include: Waxing gibbous,Waning gibbous and the
full moon. Every 29.5 days we can see a full moon. Did
you know that the full moon affects our emotions! Yes,
when there is a full moon there is a higher tide. Our
body is made up of 60% water. When there is a full
moon the water level increases to 70% for most of us.
Our emotions and feelings travel through water cause
water stores memories. When there is more water we
feel one emotion really strong throughout the day. Next
time you feel sad, happy or anything else, look up at the

sky. It might be because of the full moon!

Facts About Space

What is space?

Space is the area beyond the upper limits of
Earth’s atmosphere. It is where all of the
asteroids, comets, planets, stars, solar
systems and galaxies in our universe are
found. Space is a vacuum, meaning it
contains almost nothing, but it is not

completely empty.
What are the 8 planets?

Order of the eight planets from left: Mercury, Venus,
Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune

Some facts on space

Space does not begin at a specific altitude above the
Earth, but the Kármán line at 100 km is a commonly used
definition.
The temperature in the void of space is about −270.45 °C.
Space is a hard vacuum, meaning it is a void containing
very little matter.
There is no sound in space because molecules are too
far apart to transmit sound.

Short Stories - Tanisha Anand

There was a beautiful forest, full of lush green trees.
One day, a hunter was passing through the forest. Suddenly, a
bird sitting on a branch of a tree shed its droppings, which fell
on the hunter’s shoulder. The hunter looked at the droppings.

There was gold in them
The hunter was surprised.” I have been catching birds since
my childhood” thought the hunter. “I am fifty now. But I have

never seen gold in a bird’s droppings.”
The hunter looked up at the branch on which the bird was
sitting. He was even more surprised because it was a golden

bird.
The hunter casted its net and caught the bird then he thought

“if I do not take this to the king, he will punish me for not
showing such a unique bird, so I must go to him to show the

bird.

When he reached the palace, he narrated his story to the king
and he was really astonished, but he said, “how are we sure
that this bird has golden droppings, free this bird and I think

this hunter has gone mad.” Therefore, they let the bird free and
then the bird said “you fool I give gold droppings the first fool

was me because I shed golden droppings on the hunter. The
second fool was the hunter who let me free without even
knowing that I give golden droppings. the last fool was the
hunter again in spite of catching me he could not keep me.
Saying this the bird went flapping its wings happily.

THE CASE OF THE MISLEADING MIDNIGHT DRINK

Sukena Hussain 8G2

This evening Mrs. Wong was reading Sherlock Holmes:
The study in scarlet. She was enjoying the book a
great deal. When she heard a heavy thud and a
blood-curdling scream from the room above. That
room was the Lord and Lady’s room. Mrs. Wong was just
about ready to make a run for it. Then she heard a
voice shriek out “OH MRS. WONG! MRS. WONG! PLEASE
HELP!”.

Mrs. Wong dashed out of the ballroom and up
sprinted up the marble stairs barefoot. Then she
turned and ran down the carpeted corridor until she
reached the Lord and Lady’s room. She barged in and
saw Lady Greyson on her knees over Lord Greyson’s
unconscious body.

“Oh Mrs. Wong, I-I don’t know what happened he was
fine a few moments ago.” The panicked blonde lady
said.

“Lady Greyson, what happened?” Mrs. Wong asked, her
eyes fixed on the chubby man on the floor.

“I-I don’t know, he-he was just talking to me while I
was getting ready for bed and then he fell.”.

“Do you know what he was doing?”.

Short Stories - Sukena Hussain

“I-I think he was getting a drink from his mini bar.”
The lady said while pointing to a small,
illuminated shelf in the corner of the room.

Mrs. Wong looked over to Lord Greyson’s mini bar. It
was a bookshelf with lights on every shelf to make
it look more appealing. There were three shelves of
bottles, the top one having Beer, the second Wine and
the last Whiskey. Mrs. Wong never saw the point of
filling a bookshelf with horrible drinks instead of
books it just seemed a waste. Mrs. Wong turned her
attention back to Lady Greyson who was currently
sitting beside Lord Greyson with tears in her eyes.

“Oh Lady Greyson! You must be horrified! I am so
sorry; you should go down to your powder room and
take a long bath. I will take care of it all.” Mrs.
Wong said ushering Lady Greyson out of the room.

“Well, a bath does sound nice, very well then.” Lady
Greyson replied leaving the room.
