DIRECTOR’S NOTE

Dear Poplar Creek Library Friends,
We are coming off of a great summer and looking ahead to an exciting fall! We had Farmer’s Markets, music, the Summer Reading
Challenge “Feed Your Need to Read” with great prizes and an app, U-46 Summer Camp and more filling our building all summer long.
Many of you have explored Studio 1405 and found all kinds of creative tools offered there. During our Summer Reading Challenge, many of
you took advantage of our professional free photography.
This fall, watch for our free holiday-themed photo station where you may have a professional family photo taken for your holiday cards!
Sign-ups will start before Thanksgiving. See page 6 for more information.
September is Library Card Sign Up month. We hope you will renew your card or sign up for a new one. September is also Passport
Awareness month. We are excited to announce our new Passport Services—you may now apply for or renew your Passport at the library! See our website or call
the Reference Services Department at 630.483.4929 to make an appointment.
This issue of our newsletter is loaded with programming. Mark your calendars, register as needed, and drop by for more information.
Our Board of Trustees would like to discuss your library needs and expectations. Plan to stick around after the Family Concert Series on October 21st to chat with
our dedicated and capable trustees. Also watch for their survey this fall. They want your feedback!
Let’s all FALL into reading!
