The Laredo Border Chapter API is a service-oriented organization Friday & Saturday, April 13 & 14, 2018
that was chartered in 1982 by local oil field service companies and
a local independent operator. ZAPATA COUNTY FAIRGROUDS
ROPING ARENA
The Laredo Border Chapter API’s goal is to raise funds for
scholarships and to promote education, well-being, and success in
today’s youth.

The Laredo Border Chapter API host 3 fundraising events. A Team
Roping & BBQ Cook-Off, Bass Tournament & BBQ Cook-Off, and a
Golf Tournament. The monies raised from these 3 events will be
used to fund the Laredo Border Chapter API Scholarship program.
Previous years the Laredo Border Chapter API Awarded
$230,000.00 dollars in scholarships to local and regional children
of the surrounding communities. The Scholarship program and
other Border Chapter API events wouldn’t be possible without your
help and support.
These events are put together by the Chapter officers, Members,
and Volunteers that help kids realize their college education.
The Laredo Border Chapter API hopes that this 2018 year will be a
productive and profitable year for you and your company.

evening. It is your cooking team’s choice to enter. We will award a VIVIANA JOHNSON / DNOW
prize for 1st, 2nd place. This is an optional event for the cook teams.
Judging time 7:00 PM, Friday, don’t be late!

SATURDAY / ROPERS: REGISTRATION: ELSA VELA & LUIS HILARIO
Late Registration Sign in for the #12, #10, #8 will begin @ 7:30AM and .
will remain open throughout the day and will close 30 min. prior to start
time of each roping. Starting with the #12 @ 9:00 AM Sharp.
The # 10 roping will not start before 11:00 AM & the # 8 will not start
before 2:00PM.
We will try and run the Round Robin format in each roping UNLESS the
Roping exceeds 10 x 10. All roping’s will be 3 HD. PA after 1.

THIS WILL KEEP THE ROPING FROM BECOMING
A MARATHON EVENT.

SATURDAY / COOKS

 A “chief cooks” meeting will be held on Saturday morning at 8:00
a.m.

 Cook off contestants must provide enough food to feed thirty
Bpeople on Saturday. We will serve lunch to all Border Chapter API
members and attendees from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
