เรื่อง กระต่ายกับเต่า (The Hare and The Tortoise)

เรื่ องย่อ ในป่าแห่งหนึ่ ง กระต่ายตัวหนึ่ งชอบอวดโอ้

ตัวเองว่าวิ่งเร็วกว่าใครๆ ในป่า เมื่ อมันเห็นเต่าเดิน

ช้ า ต้ ว ม เ ตี้ ย ม ผ่ า น ม า มั น จึ ง หั ว เ ร า ะ เ ย า ะ เ ย้ ย เ จ้ า เ ต่ า

เ ต่ า รู้สึ ก ไ ม่ พ อ ใ จ จึ ง ท้ า ก ร ะ ต่ า ย ใ ห้ ม า วิ่ ง แ ข่ ง กั น
เมื่ อการแข่งขันเริ่มขึ้ น กระต่ายก็ว่งนำหน้าเจ้าเต่าไปไกล แต่พอถึงครึ่งทาง

กระต่ายกลับชะล่าใจแวะนอนพักใต้ต้นไม้ใหญ่และเพลอหลับไปนานมาก ขณะที่

เจ้าเต่าค่อยๆ เดินไปเรื่อยๆ โดยไม่ได้หยุดพักเลยเมื่ อกระต่าย

ตื่ นขึ้ นมาก็ตกใจรีบวิ่งไปที่เส้นชัยแต่ก็สายเกินไปเพราะเจ้าเต่า

เป็นผู้ชนะ ยืนรออยู่ที่เส้นชัยแล้ว

Once in the forest, there was a hare who boasted of himself being the fastest
runner than anyone else. He laughed at a tortoise when he saw that the tortoise
walked very slow. The tortoise was angry to hear that, so he challenged the hare to
run the race. The hare started running very fast and led the tortoise out very far.
The hare stopped for a nap in the middle of the race because he was confident that
the tortoise could not follow him. The tortoise kept walking and walking all the way
through the end. When the hare woke up, he ran quickly to the finish line but it
was too late. The tortoise was already there as the winner.

เรื่อง ไก่ได้พลอย (The Cock and The Jewel)

เรื่ องย่อ เช้าวันหนึ่ ง ขณะที่แม่ไก่กำลังเดินคุ้ยเขี่ยหาอาหารที่ลานหน้าบ้าน

ของชาวนาอยู่นั้นเอง มันก็เหลือบไปเห็นพลอยเม็ดงามเม็ดหนึ่ งส่องประกาย

ระยิบระยับอยู่บนพื้ นดิน แม่ไก่ได้แต่คิดในใจว่า "ถ้าชาวนาได้มาพบพลอยเม็ด

งามเม็ดนี้ เขาคงจะดีใจมาก แต่สำหรับเราแล้ว ข้าวเปลือก 1 เมล็ด ยังมีค่า

กว่าพลอยเม็ดนี้ตั้งมากมาย" แล้วมันก็เดินผ่านพลอยเม็ดนั้นไป

One morning, a cock was busily scratching for food in font of a farmer's house.
He unexpectedly a glittery jewel on the floor. He mumbled to himself "If the
farmer was the one who found this precious stone, he would be really happy.
Well, it's nothing for me. I would rather have a tiny grain
than this jewel." Then, the cock walk away and kept
scratching for food.

เรื่อง เด็กเลี้ยงแกะ (The Shepherd Boy)

เรื่ องย่อ เด็กเลี้ยงแกะคนหนึ่ งมีนิสัยชอบโกหก

วันหนึ่ งเขาได้นึกสนุก จึงแกล้งตะโกนดังลั่นว่า
"ช่วยด้วย! ช่วยด้วย! หมาป่ามากินแกะของผม"

ชาวบ้านเมื่ อได้ยินต่างรีบ

มาช่วยเด็กเลี้ยงแกะ แต่เมื่ อมาถึงกลับไม่เจอหมาป่า

เลยสักตัว เห็นเพียงเด็กเลี้ยงแกะหัวเราะชอบใจ
ที่หลอกคนอื่ นได้ แล้วอยู่มาวันหนึ่ ง หมาป่าก็มาไล่จับแกะของเขากินจริงๆ

เด็กเลี้ยงแกะรีบตะโกนขอความช่วยเหลือ แต่ไม่มีใครมาช่วยเขาเลยเพราะ

There was once a young shepherd boy who repeatedly
lied the other to amuse himself. One day he wanted to
have fun so he called out "Wolf Wolf, help me!" The
villagers came out to help him, but was no wolf, The boy
laughed at them happily. But stortly after this, the wolf
truly appeared and attacked his sheep. The shepherd boy cried out of help
louder than before, but this time nobody came to help him. And finally, the wolf
ate up his and then slipped away in the forest.

เรื่ องย่อ สุนัขตัวหนึ่ งกำลังคาบชิ้นเนื้ อ
วิ่งข้ามสะพาน ขณะที่มันอยู่บนสะพานมัน

ตัวหนึ่ งกำลังคาบเนื้ อชิ้นใหญ่กว่า ด้วยความอยากได้
มันจึงอ้าปากเห่าเพื่ อแย่งเอาเนื้ อชิ้นนั้นมาเป็นของมัน
แต่ทันทีที่มันอ้างปาก ชิ้นเนื้ อที่มันคาบอยู่ก็หลุดร่วง
ลงน้ำไป กว่าจะคิดได้ว่าสนุขคาบชิ้นเนื้ อที่มันเห็นนั้น

There was a dog running cross the bridge with a piece of
meat in his mouth. While he was on the bridge, he looked
down and saw another dog with larger piece of meat.
He immediately let go of his own, and fiercely barked and attacked another dog
to get that larger piece. But as he opened his mouth, his own meat was dropped
into the water. So he lost both, but it was too late for him to realize that what
he saw was his own shadow reflected in the water.

เรื่อง ชาวนากับงูเห่า (The Farmer and The Snake)

เรื่ องย่อ เช้าวันหนึ่ งในฤดูหนาวชาวนาได้เดินออกจาก
บ้านเพื่ อไปทำงานระหว่างทางนั้นเขาได้พบงู เห่าตัวหนึ่ ง
นอนตัวแข็งใกล้ตายอยู่บนคันนา ด้วยความเหน็บหนาว

แม้จะรู้ว่าอันตรายแต่ชาวนารู้สึกสงสารมันมาก จึงก้ม
ลงประคองมันขึ้ นมาแล้วอุ้มมันไว้ในอ้อมแขนของเขา
เพื่ อให้มันหายหนาว เพื่ อมีชีวิตต่อไป เมื่ องู เห่าได้รับ
ความอบอุ่นมันก็เริ่มดีขึ้ นและมีกำลังมากขึ้ น มันจึงกัดชาวนาที่ได้ช่วยเหลือมัน

One morning in winter, the farmers have
left home to work on the way he met the snake. On the ground lay snake, stiff and
frozen with the cold. The farmer knew how deadly the snake could be, and yet he
picked it up and put it in his bosom to warm it back to life. When a snake gets
warm, It's getting better and more powerful. A Snake bites a farmers who had been
so kind to it and go away. The farmer's very painful and die.

เรื่ องย่อ สุนัขจิ้งจอกตัวหนึ่ งเดินกระหายน้ำ

จนมาพบบ่อน้ำแห่งหนึ่ งเข้า ด้วยความรีบร้อน

จึงลื่ นตกลงไปในบ่อน้ำ และไม่สามารถปีนขึ้ น

มาได้แพะตัวหนึ่ งเดินผ่านมาก็สงสัยจึงถามว่า

“ เ จ้ า ล ง ไ ป ทำ อ ะ ไ ร ใ น บ่ อ น้ำ เ ห ร อ ” เ จ้ า สุ นั ข จิ้ ง จ อ ก

จึงหลอกแพะว่า “น้ำในบ่อนี้เป็นน้ำวิเศษ เจ้าลง

มากินด้วยกันสิ” เจ้าแพะหลงเชื่ อจึงรีบกระโดดลงไป สุนัขจิ้งจอกได้โอกาสจึง

กระโดดเหยียบหัวแพะขึ้ นจากบ่อได้ แล้วมันก็เยาะเย้ยแพะว่า “ฮ่า ฮ่า ฮ่า หาทาง

ขึ้ นจากบ่อเองแล้วกันนะ เจ้าแพะโง่”

There was a thirsty fox looking for water to drink. Once he found

a well, he rushed to it and fell into the deep well. He could not

find the way to get out. Soon, a goat came by. “What are you

doing in there?” asked the goat. “It’s the wonderful tasting water I’ve ever had. You

must come down here and try.” replied the fox with a plan.The goat believed and

was interested in what the fox said, so he jumped down into the well. When the

goat was in there, the fox suddenly climbed on to the goat’s head and got out of the

well. “Ha Ha Ha foolish goat, find the way out by yourself.” said the fox.

เรื่อง ต้นโอ๊คกับต้นอ้อ (The Oak and The Reeds)

เรื่ องย่อ ณ ริมบึงน้ำแห่งหนึ่ ง มีต้นโอ๊ค

ต้นใหญ่ขึ้ นอยู่ริมฝั่ ง และมีต้นอ้อขึ้ นอยู่

ริมน้ำ เมื่ อลมพัดมา ต้นอ้อก็ไหวเอนไป

ตามลม ต้นโอ๊คเห็นเช่นนั้นจึงพู ดขึ้ นว่า

"แค่ลมพัดเบาๆ เจ้าก็โอนเอนเสียแล้ว ช่างไม่มีความกล้าหาญเอาเสียเลย ไม่

เหมือนข้า ตั้งตรงไม่หวั่นไหวต่ออะไรทั้งนั้น" ในคืน

นั้นเอง ก็เกิดพายุพัดรุนแรงมาก ต้นโอ๊คพยายาม

ยืนต้านพายุแต่ก็ต้านไม่ไหว จึงหักโค่นลงส่วนต้นอ้อ

นั้นเอนลู่ตามแรงพายุ และเมื่ อพายุผ่านไป ต้นอ้อก็กลับชูใบขึ้ นเช่นเดิม

By the riverbank, there were a very large oak stood

near some reeds. When the wind blew, the reeds bowed

low in the wind. The oak said "You are so weak, my

friend. Only the light breeze, you couldn't even stand up."

" Unlike, I'm not scared of anything. I stand upright when

the wind blows" the oak continued. On the night, the great storm came and the oak

fought against the storm. Afttrr all his effort, he still could not stand against the

wind. Finally, the oak fell but the reeds were survived.

เรื่อง สุนัขจิ้งจอกกับลา (A Fox and A Donkey)

เรื่ องย่อ กาลครั้งหนึ่ งสุนัขจิ้งจอกกับลา เป็นเพื่ อนรักกันออกหาอาหาร

ร่วมกัน ปกป้องซึ่งกันและกัน วันหนึ่ งพวกเขาออกไปในป่าเพื่ อหาอาหาร

ด้วยกันพวกเขาไม่ได้ไปไกลนักก็ได้พบกับสิงโต เมื่ อสุนัขจิ้งจอกมองเห็น

อันตราย จึงแอบเข้าไปหาสิงโตพร้อมกับสัญญาว่าจะจับตัวลามาให้หาก

สิงโตรับปากว่าจะไม่ทำร้ายสุนัขจิ้งจอก "ได้โปรดอย่ากินข้าเลย หากท่านปล่อยข้าไป ข้าจะ

พาเจ้าลาอ้วนมาให้ท่านกินเป็นอาหาร" เจ้าสุนัขจิ้งจอกพู ด สุนัขจิ้งจอกกลับไปลาพร้อมกับ

ทำให้ลาเชื่ อใจว่าจะไม่ได้รับอันตรายใดๆ หากไปกับมัน สุนัขจิ้งจอกพาลาไปที่หลุมลึกและ

ผลักให้ลาตกลงไปในหลุมเมื่ อสิงโตเห็นว่าลานั้นอยู่ในหลุมแล้วก็จับสุนัข

จิ้งจอกกินเป็นอาหารทันที ส่วนเจ้าลานั้นจะจับกินเมื่ อใดก็ได้

Once upon a time, a fox and the donkey who were close

friends, having entered into partnership together for their

mutual protection. One day, they went out into the forest to hunt. They had not gone far

when they met a Lion.The Fox, seeing the imminent danger, approached the Lion and

promised to arrange the capture of the Donkey if the Lion would pledge his word not to

harm the Fox. "Please don't eat me. If you let me go, I will bring a fat donkey to serve you as

your meal." said the fox. The Fox went back to the Donkey and, assuring him that he would

not be hurt, the Fox led the Donkey to a deep pit and arranged that he should fall into it.The

Lion, seeing that the Donkey was secured, immediately grabbed the Fox, and attacked the

Donkey at his leisure.

เรื่อง ขุมทรัพย์ของชาวนา (The Farmer's Treasure)

เรื่ องย่อ ชาวนาผู้แก่ชราคนหนึ่ งกำลังป่วยหนัก จึงเรียกให้ลูกชายมา

พบเพื่ อมอบมรดกให้ "ในที่ดินของพ่อมีทรัพย์สมบัติซ่อนอยู่ เจ้าจง

ตั้งใจขุดหามันเถิด แล้วเจ้าจะร่ำรวย" หลังจากชาวนาชราเสียชีวิตลง

ลูกชายจึงได้ขุดหาสมบัติ พร้อมกับปลูกข้าวไปด้วย

หลายเดือนผ่านไป เขาก็ยังหาสมบัติไม่พบ แต่ข้าวที่เขาปลูกนั้นได้ผลดี

"นี่คงจะเป็นสมบัติที่พ่อบอกไว้แน่ๆ" ตั้งแต่นั้นมาเขาก็ตั้งใจเพาะปลูกและร่ำรวยอย่างที่พ่อเขา

One day an old farmer who was so sick and about to die called his son

to his bedside and said " My dear son, there is treasure lay hidden
somewhere in our field. Dig it out and when you find it, you will be
rich." After the death of the dad, the son started digging for the

treasure. At some time, he also grew rice in the field. Months
afterwards, he did not see any treasure but the rice he grew began growing and strong.
Season after season, he still could hot find the treasure but he made a lot money from
selling rice. It made him understand that the real treasure came from the work he put into
the field.

เรื่อง สองเกลอกับขวาน (The Two Travelers and The Axe)

เรื่ องย่อ ชายสองคนเป็นเพื่ อนรักกัน วันหนึ่ งทั้งสองเดินมาเจอขวาน
เล่มหนึ่ งตกอยู่ “ข้าเจอมันก่อน ขวานเล่มนี้ต้องเป็นของข้า” ชายคน
หนึ่ งพู ดขึ้ น แล้วหยิบขวานมาถือไว้ “เราเจอมันพร้อมกัน ขวานจะเป็น
ของเจ้าคนเดียวได้อย่างไร” ในขณะนั้นเอง เจ้าของขวานก็เดินมาเห็น

เข้า “ช่วยด้วย! มีคนขโมยขวานของข้า” ชายถือขวานตกใจ “แย่แล้ว
พวกเราจะทำอย่างไรกันดี” เพื่ อนรักของเขาจึงพู ดขึ้ นว่า “อย่าพู ดว่า
พวกเรา เพราะข้าไม่ได้เกี่ยวอะไรด้วยเลย”

One day two men were best friends found
an axe the path. One of them picked up the axe from the floor and
said “I found it first. It is mine.” “We found it. Don’t say you found
it” replied the other man. Soon, the owner of the axe came and
shouted “Help Help!! Someone stole my axe.” The man who held the axe was frightened and
said “What should we do?” His friend said “Do not say 'we', because I was not involved with
this.”
