Preposition

Preposition หรือ คำบุพบท คือ คำที่ใช้เชื่อมความ
สัมพันธ์ระหว่างคำ ๆ หนึ่ง กับคำอื่นในวลีหรือประโยค
ไม่ว่าจะเป็น คำนาม คำสรรพนาม หรือคำกริยา เพื่อบอก
เวลา สถานที่ ตำแหน่ง ทิศทาง วิธีการ หรือเหตุผล เพื่อ
ให้ประโยคสมบูรณ์ ตัวอย่างคำบุพบท เช่น in, on, at,
after, about, above, below, over, under,
between, by, down, for, from, with, without
เป็นต้น

Preposition สามารถแบ่งออกเป็น 3 แบบ คือ
Preposition of Place, Preposition of Time และ
Preposition of Direction โดยในบทนี้จะพู ดถึงใน
เรื่องของ "Preposition of Place"

Preposition of Place
(คำบุพบทบ่งบอกตำแหน่ง หรือ สถานที่)

คือ คำบุพบทที่บ่งบอกถึงตำแหน่งของ คน
สัตว์ สิ่งของ ว่าอยู่ที่ใดบ้าง คำบุพบทที่พบบ่อย
คือ in, on, at เป็นต้น

1. In (ใน) ใช้กับ เมือง ประเทศ และพื้นที่ที่มีขอบเขต
เช่น
1. She was in hospital last year.
เธอรักษาตัวอยู่ในโรงพยาบาลเมื่อปีที่แล้ว

2. I have been in Thailand for 2 years.
ฉันอาศัยอยู่ในประเทศไทยมาแล้วเป็นเวลา 2 ปี

3. The flowers are in the pot.
ดอกไม้หลายดอกอยู่ในกระถาง

2. On (บน) ใช้กับ ชื่อถนนและอธิบายว่าอยู่บนพื้นผิว
ของสิ่งต่าง ๆ เช่น

1. My office is on Rama road.
บริษัทของฉันอยู่บนถนนรามา

2. Two bottles of water are on the table.
ขวดน้ำ 2 ขวดตั้งอยู่บนโต๊ะ

3. His photo is on the wall.
รูปภาพของเขาอยู่บนฝาผนัง

3. At (ที่) ใช้กับ พื้นที่หรือสถานที่ที่เจาะจงชัดเจน เช่น
1. My friend was at the mall yesterday.
เพื่ อนของฉันอยู่ที่ห้างสรรพสินค้าเมื่อวานนี้

2. Their father works at home.
พ่ อของพวกเขาทำงานอยู่ที่บ้าน

3. You can meet her at the bus station.
คุณสามารถพบหล่อนได้ที่สถานีรถโดยสาร
