The fight was a six-round

and the boxers will be matched
again on Saturday week.

Satori has had more experience than any other Wimmera boxer and has fought 10 round and
six round bouts at the West Melbourne Stadium and a 12 round bout in Adelaide.

Carter said on Wednesday that Satori was retiring because of the pressure of work.
“It will be a great loss to Wimmera boxing. He is easy to train, easy to work with, and always
adhered rigidly to instructions while in training.” Added Carter.

SATORI WORKING
OUT ON SPEED

Horsham Boxer, “Young Satori, is concen-
trating on speed in his strenuous training
program for the Wimmera welter title fight
against Lyle Cook, of Warracknabeal, next
week.

With both boxers in top condition, _____? have
already predicted that the bout will go the dis-
tance, with the winner crowned on a points de-
cision.

Satori has avoided hard hitting heavy
weights by sparring with elusive and swift
footed opponents, he is building up footwork
which has more than pleased his trainer, Mr A
Carter of Horsham.

Some of Satori’s opponents include John
Penny, who is about a stone heavier and Don
Hill (8.7), an outstanding fighter who is already
a Victorian Champion in his class.

Hill one of the fastest and most talented
boxers in the Wimmera has proved an ideal
sparring partner for Satori.

Although Satori is an orthodox fighter, he
can change his style of fighting and adopt the
southpaw stance. This could worry Cook in the
Championship bout.

Another factor is that he has had a break
from boxing for about two months while Cook
has been having ____?

Some think that Cook could have a “ape” of
form by the time of the fight on Thursday night.

Satori is running two miles per day in his
roadwork training, is skipping hard and working
on the (helium lung)?

His Horsham trainers said this week they
were “very confident”.
