NAC HELICOPTERS CAPE TOWN
NAC Helicopters Cape Town recently did their
first over-border flight to Namibia (a very dif-
ferent view from Cape Town!) in their new to
the fleet, the beautiful Bell 407.
Chief Pilot, Anthony Root, and General Manager,
Gary Wilson (who is also a pilot) flew up to Namibia
in the early hours of the morning of 2 November.
The first leg of the flight took the pilots from the
V&A Waterfront directly to Clanwilliam, where
they stopped to refuel the helicopter, they then
continued their journey to Upington, onwards to
Keetmanshoop and then to the final destination;
Fish River Lodge in the Fish River Canyon.
The journey of 1 161km from the V&A Waterfront
to Fish River Valley took approximately 5:30 min.
After a long day of flying, the pilots needed to get
some rest before flying the clients the next day
along the Fish River Canyon.
The tour was hugely successful and the pilots
returned to Cape Town an approximate 2 522 km
later!
