Joe Sangl You CAN do this!” 4 “
Welcome I am so FIRED UP you have chosen to participate in this study! Not too long ago, I was sitting at my desk attempting once again to climb out of a financial mess. With an average bank account balance of $4.13, I knew there had to be a better way to manage my money and I resolved to discover it. Over the course of the next few years, I was able to eliminate my debt and begin living a fully funded life. This study focuses on the very principles and tools that allowed me to take these life-altering steps. It is the passion and mission of our team to help you accomplish far more than you ever thought possible with your personal finances. We firmly believe that when people are financially free, they are much more likely to go do exactly what they have been put on earth to do - regardless of the income potential. Since life change is best accomplished together, I’ve prepared this material as a small group study. As you apply this knowledge alongside your family and friends, I trust you will find the support, encouragement, and accountability necessary to identify and take your next financial steps. My prayer is that this material will be practical and helpful on your journey. Even more, I pray this material inspires people, increases unity within marriages, and moves friendships to deeper levels. I sign many of my books this way: “Here’s to ALWAYS being able to do EXACTLY what you’ve been put on earth to do!” May it also be true for you. Fired up! Joe Sangl 5

During your financial journey, have you ever “fallen off the Ladder”? • What emotional impact did that “fall” have? • In what ways did or could a “fall” slow your progress toward achieving your goals? 2. What are the biggest challenges you believe you will face during your climb up the Fully Funded Life Ladder? 20

Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’” Luke 14:28-30 21

Session Two AT HOME SELF-REFLECTION Author’s Note: I am fully aware of the challenging nature of some of these questions, but I believe fully in each of them. It is when I became extremely transparent with the Lord, my family, and my friends that I truly began to experience a fully funded life. I pray you will receive these questions in the spirit of the great love I have for you and your journey, and not with a spirit of condemnation or guilt. In Matthew 25:14-30, commonly known as “The Parable of the Talents,” Jesus shares a story of three money managers. The two managers who managed their money well were rewarded with more to manage. The manager who buried his money had it stripped from him - even though he had kept what was given to him. He had not spent any of it, but Jesus called him a “worthless lazy servant.” 1. How might Jesus describe your past financial management practices? 2. Spend some time in thought and prayer about how you can become a better manager of what God has given you. What are some things you need to change? What are some things you need to start doing? Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” God owns it all, and it’s our challenging task to manage what He has provided to the very best of our ability. 3. Are you bringing the full tithe – 10% of your gross income – to the local church? 4. If not, what is holding you back from doing so? Are there any lies that you are believing which prevent you from doing so? 32
Session Two AT HOME SELF-REFLECTION 5. What do you need to change in your money management to be able to follow this command? 6. Are you managing the remaining 90% to the best of your ability? 7. What changes do you need to make with how you manage what God has given you? 8. What steps will you need to implement to ensure you prepare a budget every single month before the month begins?
