PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN TWO NESTS!
Print page 4. This page shows two nests (with pictures of an elephant
and an emu) and 12 eggs (with pictures of 6 short e words and 6 long e
words).
If you like, color the pictures. Then cut them out.
Set out the two nests. The nest with the elephant picture is for words
with the short e sound (like elephant). The nest with the emu picture is
for words with the long e sound (like emu).
Pick up an egg and say the name of the picture aloud. Then place that
egg in either the short e nest or the long e nest.
W hen you are finished, count the eggs in each nest. Are there six in
each? If so, good work! (If not, try again!)
JUST FOR FUN! Turn the “picture eggs” face down and mix them up. Pick
out two eggs and turn them over. Now tell a story that includes these two
things!

©2010 Kane Press, Inc. Lightly oil a small nonstick omelet pan or frying pan.
Heat until a drop of water sizzles in the pan.
Pour in eggs, tipping pan so eggs cover bottom of pan.
Continue tipping pan and lifting edges of the omelet so uncooked eggs will run
underneath. Cook over low heat until eggs are set.
Arrange veggies and then cheese on 1/2 of the egg circle.
Carefully lift the uncovered half of the egg circle and fold it over the
top of the veggies and cheese. Continue cooking over low heat,
gently pressing down on the top of the omelet.
VERY carefully, slide spatula under the middle of the omelet, tip
pan toward spatula, and turn omelet over. Continue cooking over
low heat for another minute, pressing down gently on the omelet.
Slide onto plate. Cut into 2 or 3 servings.
Serve with a generous dollop of your favorite tomato salsa.
Delicious!
Be sure to put my recipe in your Animal Antics recipe folder!
