INTRODUCTION

Teacher is a noble and great job. Teacher play an important
role in educating people to move forward. At the same time
teacher is a backbone to produce any successful people.
But some people underestimate and had negative
stereotypes about teacher, such as lack of commitment,
tech addict and rebel teacher. This scenario like a rotten
apple spoils the whole barrel it is because some teacher
negative behaviour can affect the whole education
institution. This occupation make an impact to all students
to achieve success. Becoming a teacher is my ambition
since I was in primary school. After I finish my ‘Sijil
Pelajaran Malaysia’ (SPM), I got accepted into ‘INSTITUT
PENDIDIKAN GURU KAMPUS IPOH’ (IPGKI). I’m so grateful
because I’m one step closer to be a teacher. So, one day if I
get a chance to become a teacher or an educator, I want to
be the type of excellent teacher and want to break the
negative stereotypes about teacher in people mind.

Before I go any further, the main reason I would like to be a
teacher or an educator because it is my passion. I like to teaching
other people until they understand. I feel satisfied when they
master the topics and can answer the question. The subject I’m
interested to teach is Malay language. It is because this is my
native language and I feel responsible to dignify Malay language
by being Malay language teacher. In fact being a teacher provide
many salary benefits, such as allowance. Lastly, teaching has a
very clear path to do so and have many opportunities to go as
high as we want.

Some teachers, they just teach student as a job and don’t mind
about the student himself. They don’t have passion and
commitment. I don’t want to be that kind of teacher. I want
educate pupils with all my heart and give full commitment so
they get a quality education that can be applied to their own
lives. I must be more creative in teaching to prevent my students
getting bored quickly and more eager to learn. I will do learning
activities that can stimulate their mind. For examples,
brainwriting, jigsaw, mind map and many more. These activities
teach them to explore and experiments to form their own ideas.
Other than that, I must be a excellent role model for my students
in a way I must have great teacher personality. A great teacher
personality is when I went to school I must wear clean and neat
teaching because our look will determine their first impression.
Furthermore, I must have good communication skills with my
student. My way is I have to be confident and use a right terms
while explaining some topics to make it easier for them to
understand. Memorize students name will ease to communicate
and they will feel more appreciated. Another example is I praise
their good work and offer constructive feedback when my
student does poor work. So, it is important to have great teacher
personality to motivate student.

Moreover, I will be more patience in teaching because every student
have their own pace in learning. It is because some student have
learning problems like dyslexia. So, I must find a appropriate way to
teach them to make people with this disorder more easy in learning to
prevent them from give up on education. The best teacher is can
adapt with student situation. We must not expect student can master
any subject a day. Teaching them step by step and observed their
progress day by day is the best way. I still remember in my mind
during my primary school, I had a teacher who likes to teach very fast.
I’m feel pressured to understand many thing at the same time. But I
must force myself and I’m so grateful because succeeded to catch up
the subject. I don’t want this thing experienced by my students. I want
them learning without pressure and happy to gain more knowledge.




Lastly, I must be prepared and knowledgeable about the subject
before I deliver to student. This is very important to make sure the
knowledge that I teach is true and authentic. It is because any
problem came from teacher can give bad impact to student grades
and learning process. The best way is I mastered the major
concepts and the disciplines of the subject. I make notes and
study. The thing I prepare for class is do the reading and problem
sets, take some notes on the subject, review lecture for the next
week and make a list of questions to use in class or write on the
board. This thing I made can ensure learning process run smoothly
and successful. I’m always ready to answer any questions with
knowledge from my students because children have high curiosity
and love to ask. Last but not least, I want to be a good listener
teacher for my student. I will listen any problem from them and
make me a person they can trust to express anything. This is
because I don’t want them feel depressed or plagued by problems.
I not only listen but I try to solve their problems as best as I can. It
will make them happy to go school and feel school is a safe place
and this can reduce percentage of students who do not want to go
to school.

CONCLUSION

What can be conclude from my story is being a teacher not easy as
people said. Teachers hold a great deal of trust and responsibility to
educate people. Being a teacher must be good from aspect
personality, education and characteristic. A career as a teacher is
not just about teaching but educating the younger generation
develop human capital for the future. Become a teacher is not as
flattering as being a doctor, engineer, astronaut or millionaire but
without teacher the world will be dark with ignorance. I hope one
day I will be a good teacher that inspires all students to succeed in
all areas because with a great power comes a great responsibility.
