A colonial-style building located on the grounds of Anantara Chiang Mai Resort & Spa, close to
the tranquil Ping River. It was built since 74 years ago, or about 1915. At that time, the owner of
this land was the British government. This colonial building was opened as the British Consulate
in Chiang Mai in 1921. The design of the building was built to suit the tropical climate. and a ter-
race was built around the building to absorb the wind from the river. The building was also used
as the residence of the consular family use as an office courtroom Civil Service Center There is
also an elephant sanctuary in the consulate’s area.
