SENSES
• Senses allow us to observe
and understand the world
around us.
• There are five main ways in
which we can do this:
through sight, touch, smell,
taste and hearing.
SENSE ORGANS
-----------------------------------
The sense organs are
the body organs by which we are able
to see, smell, hear, taste, and
touch or feel.
5 SENSE ORGANS
There are five sense
organs in our body.
They are
• eyes (for seeing),
• nose (for smelling),
• ears (for hearing),
• tongue (for tasting), and
• skin (for touching or
feeling).
Eyes
We see with our eyes.
We have two eyes.
Our eyes help us to see the world around us,
without eyes we cannot see anything.
Other animals, birds, and fish also see through their eyes.
Ears
Sounds are everywhere, and we have two cool parts on
our body that let us hear them all: our ears!
We hear with our ears.
We have two ears, one on each side of the head.
Nose
We smell through our nose.
We smell different things around us with our nose.
Our nose has two holes called nostrils.
We also breathe air in through our nostrils.
Tongue
The tongue is a muscular organ in the
mouth which helps us to taste and
swallow food.
There are taste buds in the tongue,
which help us to decide whether
something is salty, sour, sweet or bitter.
Skin
The skin help us to feel by the sense of touch.
Skin is the outer covering of our body and
it is the largest sense organ as it is located throughout the
human body. Skin protects the internal organs, bones and
muscles of our body. It helps us to feel cold and hot things.
