Influenza Serobacterin Mulford
in the
Prevention and Treatment of Colds.
Colds are generally caused by attacks upon the mucous membranes of the respiratory passages, due to lowered resistance
or to special virulency upon the part of the attacking bacteria.
Infection is Overcome by the production of antibacterial substances (antibodies). When the affected tissues are
unable to produce antibodies sufficient to repel invasion, other parts of the body may be stimulated to produce the
necessary antibodies by injecting killed bacteria corresponding to those causing the cold.
Influenza Serobacterin Mulford is used in checking epidemics of colds, influenza and catarrhal inflammations of the
respiratory passages, in the prophylaxis and treatment of acute and chronic catarrhal conditions of the nose, throat and
respiratory passages, especially when complicated with influenza. It con-
tains killed bacteria (obtained from many cases of colds) treated with immune
serum corresponding to each type of bacteria, to render them more active in (•pit- -
producing immunity and to reduce local or general reactions.

Brief Extracts from the periodical, "Bverywoman " London, Nov, 4, 1916.
^HE girl who is a dispenser is able to do her " bit " to help win the war ; she can release a man for the
firing line, and when Peace comes she can fill up a gap where one has given his life for his country. . .
WHAT IT COSTS TO LEARN.—The fees vary very much. At WESTMINSTER College,
Clapham Road, for instance, the inclusive fee for six months is only 8s., and this includes books and
apparatus. ... If a girl is living in the country and unable to attend a College, she can take a course of
WILLS'S UNIVERSAL POSTAL SYSTEM.
The fee is only £\ Is. She will then have Lectures sent her every week from Westminster College,
and when she can get to London she will be fairly well up in the work before she enters the College.
GOOD SALARIED APPOINTMENTS.—They vary from 25s. to £2 10s. a week
We would advise any girls about to start a career to consider very seriously this profitable profession.
