The ‘Think-Talk-Act’ Series is a 2-day skills-based training programme, delivered by
experts, that has been designed to deliver profound and sustainable culture change in your
organisation.
The ‘Think-Talk-Act’ training series can be tailored to include additional/bespoke training
modules, wellbeing interventions (including counselling and guided self-help), consultancy
and the Workplace Wellbeing Index.
Standard 2-day package
Day 1 ‘Think’ – covers Mental Health Awareness and is taken by all
participants.
Day 2 ‘Talk-Act’ – is role dependant with modules for Supporting Colleagues,
Line Managers and Senior Managers.

Mental Health Awareness
Course Description
Day 1 – ‘Think’
The Mental Health Awareness course will lay the foundations for change within your
organisation. It will increase your knowledge and awareness of mental health and get
you thinking how to challenge and overturn unhelpful attitudes and misconceptions.
Taking a person-centred approach, you will learn the language surrounding mental
health, how to identify stress and how to engage with practical sources of support.
Is this suitable for me?
This course is suitable for anyone looking to improve their own mental wellbeing, or who
wishes to support others with their mental health at work.
This training is also the right starting point for managers and Human Resources
personnel to gain an insight into mental health at work and to inform their organisation’s
policies and processes in relation to mental health.

Option 1 : Supporting Colleagues
Course Description
Day 2 – ‘Talk-Act’ for Supporting Colleagues
Our Supporting Colleagues training builds on day 1 and is designed for people who
want to help their co-workers talk about mental health and make positive wellbeing
changes.
You’ll learn how to spot warning signs and symptoms and how to offer effective, early
intervention support. It will help you initiate positive interactions, guide you to ask the
right kind of questions and challenge you to use positive language.
You’ll learn how to use a Wellness Action Plan effectively and identify different
treatments and support services.
Is this suitable for me?
Thrive at Work for Supporting Colleagues is aimed at people wishing to support
co-workers who are dealing with stress, low wellbeing or mental ill health, and who
want to be active in promoting positive mental health in the workplace.

Option 2 : Line Managers
Course Description
Day 2 – ‘Talk-Act’ for Line Managers
Our Line Managers training (also suitable for Human Resources staff) is all about
improving interactions and outcomes.
You will be guided through employer responsibilities and key legislation and policies
relating to mental health in the workplace. You will meet the 6 Core Mental Health
Standards at Work.
Using the employee journey, you will learn strategies to reduce absenteeism and
improve outcomes. We will challenge you to improve your interactions with staff and
promote wellbeing in the workplace. You’ll produce a Wellness Action Plan and find out
the most effective treatments, services and help.

The Line Managers option is targeted specifically at line managers and HR professionals.

The Senior Manager option prepares leaders to change the culture and the conversation

This course covers key legislation and the importance of implementing the 6 Core Mental
Health Standards at Work. Build a culture of care where positive interactions are
promoted. Consider the impact of stress and discover how to build resilience in your

Mental Health First Aid
Course Description
As a mental health first aider, you could be first in line for someone in mental distress.
This very practical course will give you bags of confidence and help you to identify,
understand and help someone with a mental health condition.
You’ll learn more about different mental health conditions, treatment options, the
recovery model and self-care.
All the content and resources used on this course are developed by MHFA England.
Is this suitable for me?
Designed for anyone who would like to support adults experiencing mental ill health,
this course works well alongside our Connect 5 course.
Our instructors are trained to make sure everyone feels safe and can help if anyone
finds any issues particularly difficult.
What do I get out of it?
• Learn how to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues
• Challenge stigma and discrimination
• Engage better with individuals with mental health issues
• Develop the skills to guide a person effectively towards the right support services

You will receive a copy of the excellent Mental Health First Aid manual and workbook, a
certificate and the title “Mental Health First Aider” on completion.

Connect 5
Course Description
The Connect 5 training programme will give you the confidence and core skills to have
conversations with people going through a difficult time and to support them with their
mental health and wellbeing.
You will learn about the Five Ways to Wellbeing and how to apply these to your
conversations. You’ll focus on evidence-based interventions and how to help individuals
make lasting changes that will have a positive effect on their wellbeing.
The training is certified by Public Health England.
Is this suitable for me?
This training is for anyone who wants to improve their own mental health and
wellbeing; and then to share this knowledge with others.
Particularly suitable for those working in Primary Care, Allied Health, Justice
& Rehabilitation, Social Care, Housing, Social Enterprise and Third Sector, Pastoral and
Education Support Services.
What do I get out of it?
• Become more confident in talking about mental health issues
• Learn about local services and self-help resources
• Focus on prevention and communication skills
2.5 days training, usually a half day from 9am until 1pm on day one then days two &
three are full days, running from 9am until 5pm.
