KHAL EST. 2018 F.F. CLUB Eric Gray, RB (NYG) Puka Nacua, WR (LAR) Sam LaPorta, TE (DET) After two years of falling short despite having the best team on paper, Khal finally got over the hump and won the belt in 2022. Now with the monkey off his back, Tomiello will look to become just the 2nd team in league history to win back-to-back titles, and the third team to win two championships. It's largely the same roster as last year, but it's not like much change was necessary. As if this roster wasn't scary enough, Tomiello owns six 1st round picks and five 2nd round picks in the next two drafts combined. Hard to imagine Khal being out of championship contention for a very long time. Notable Additions

PenGriffey Fantasy Football James Cook, RB (BUF) Brian Robinson, RB (WAS) Sean Tucker, RB (TB) Jordan Addison, WR (MIN) Zay Flowers, WR (BAL) Josh Downs, WR (IND) Pen Griffey is halfway thru a 1990’s Bills streak of losing in the championship. Of the four teams that have made the championship game multiple times, Griff is the only one to not win the belt at least once. He’ll look to climb over that final barrier and break the curse in 2023. He comes into this season with a slightly re-tooled roster including three receivers taken in the first round of our rookie draft and a host of new RBs behind veteran mainstays Joe Mixon & Alvin Kamara. It should be enough to stay within the inner circle of contenders this season. Notable Additions

The Yelpers are the only remaining team in the league to make the playoffs in every season. Despite their regular season dominance, they came up short on their quest to become the first team to win three championships, losing in the semifinals. They should be right back in the mix this year though, as they still hold many high-end fantasy assets. Notable Additions

MCCHICKEN A N D F R I E S Ryan Tannehill, QB (TEN) Travis Etienne, RB (JAX) Israel Abanikanda, RB (NYJ) Deebo Samuel, WR (SF) Coming off the heels of a two-year rebuild, there was buzz surrounding this team last year as a sneaky playoff hopeful. McChicken exceeded expectations with a magical Vikings-esque regular season run that led to a franchise-record 10 wins and a playoff bye. They would come up short to the eventual champions in the semi-finals, but the front office clearly has recognized the opening of a contending window, as made apparent by offseason trades that brought in Deebo Samuel & Travis Etienne. It remains to be seen if those moves will be enough to combat some regression to the mean. Notable Additions

A first-round exit in the playoffs last year still isn’t up to standard for the two-time (and only back-to-back) league champion though. F O O T B A L L THE YUYDAS EST. 2018 Y Hendon Hooker, QB (DET) 2022 saw Smerling end his playoff drought, making it to the dance for the first time in franchise history. Even though he got bounced in the first round, there were still plenty of positives to build on for the franchise going forward. For starters, The Yuydas’ 9 wins in 2022 were more than they had in the previous two seasons combined. CeeDee Lamb & Devonta Smith saw monster breakouts, and Miles Sanders & Geno Smith re-emerged as viable starters. It'll be tough for The Yuydas to stick around in the playoff picture in 2023, but the outlook is still as bright as it's ever been for Smerling. Notable Additions

FOOTBALL ABUSEMENT PARK Chris Rodriguez, RB (WAS) Keaton Mitchell, RB (BAL) Michael Wilson, WR (ARI) Kayshon Boutte, WR (NE) If you’re trying to find evidence that this league is ultra-competitive, look no further than Abusement Park’s 2022 season. Despite going 8-6, they missed the playoffs. No team had ever won 8 or more games and still missed the playoffs before last year. It was similar to the misfortune Hack & Stark faced in 2019, when they led the league in Points For, but still finished 9th. They can’t afford many more seasons of bad luck though, as their window is on the verge of closing. With most of their impactful players on the wrong side of the aging curve, it may be now or never in 2023. Notable Additions

Upon closer inspection, bad luck definitely played a factor, as Max finished 5th in Points For. The JMU How You Doins roster certainly looks better than a 6-8 team, and with some big additions made through the rookie draft & in offseason trades, it’s hard to imagine another below .500 finish. Injuries have taken their toll on JMU these last few years, and with the playoff picture tighter than ever, Max will need some durability out of his guys to get back in the bracket. Notable Additions

As I said in the chat, you can’t really say there are big shoes to fill here. In 2018: 6-7, 2019: 3-10, 2020: 2-11, 2021: 10-4 (what a run), 2022: 4-10. Fans of this franchise have been waiting so long to see sustained success. Hopefully, the sale of the team and the subsequent rebrand to Grandma’s Sauce can jumpstart things. It may be wishful thinking to expect much from this squad in 2023, but I’m excited to see how Louie builds this thing out long-term. Notable Additions

I'm officially at the point of needing to see it before jumping back on the bandwagon. We're now four years removed from Old Bay's one and only playoff appearance, in which they made a run to the semifinals as a six-seed. I still think Dan's team looks great on paper, but there's clearly a bad aura in the building preventing this organization from breaking the shackles. Regardless of if this season results in a playoff berth, i can't see it being worse than last year's four-win fiasco. Notable Additions

It isn't all bleak though, as Stewart came away from the 2022 rookie draft with a very intriguing haul. The tank worked to perfection, as The Don won the Bijan Robinson sweepstakes. The exciting offseason started about a week before the draft though, as Max was able to land superstar receiver Garrett Wilson in a blockbuster trade. In each of the last two seasons, the team that finished in last place ended up winning 10 games and reaching the playoffs in the next year. The Don will look to continue that trend with a much-improved roster heading into 2023. Notable Additions
