came out of the vehicle and informed the parents that he would
only be able to process the first ten people in line as there
wouldn’t be me to do more. He collected the documents from
the first ten people and began to process them. The procedure
involved comple ng the ID applica on form, taking all ten
fingerprints of the learner, taking her photograph and recording
her signature on an electronic signature pad. Parents also had to
sign. It took about half an hour to process most girls, as the form
is quite long, but Hayley had already completed the form online,
so it only took her 15 minutes. Hayley’s p for those who

Those girls who were unable to make use of the service provided
by the mobile unit will have to apply for their ID cards at a Home

DOODLE ON THE DESKS

The dream has finally come true. That's right, you as a student can doodle on
desks, punishment free. Girls' High is par cipa ng in an art project called
'Frequencies' founded by Oscar Murillo in collabora on with writer, Clara
Dublanc, where canvases are stapled to desks and learners can draw, paint
and write to their hearts content.

‘Frequencies’ intends to bring about a be er understanding of arts educa on

400 schools in more than 30 different countries so far. It has even been
displayed at major art galleries throughout the world.
The project is taking place in the Art Centre classrooms and will be removed

On 24 August 2022, the Grade 8s had a social media
workshop. Two special guests a ended PHSG to teach the
Grade 8s how to use social media pla orms properly and
responsibly, teaching them the dangers of using social
media.

The two guests explained how using such pla orms could
lead to pu ng yourself at risk to the dangers of the real
world such as human trafficking.
They also spoke about how some people portray
themselves to the world., o en pu ng up a fake persona,
ac ng all nice and friendly but, o en they are wolves just
wai ng to pounce and start feas ng on their prey.



THE BUTTERFLY BOX

As long as you remember that you are more than enough.

name The Bu erfly Box. The bu erfly boxes are a way for
you to reach out if you feel like you need help.
How it works: write your Name and Surname, Grade and
House on a piece of paper and pop it in the box. One of the
school counsellors will then contact you and set a me for
you to come chat. The process is anonymous and the
counsellors are the only people who will know who you are
and will be in contact with you. If your name is not on the
paper, we will not be able to find you, so please make sure
you include it. It's okay to feel down as long as you are able
to find your way back up again, that's what we are here to
