The past and the future - Inauguration poem 3
Mrs. President, American People, the world
Like a river flowing smoothly, our country has mended itself and has began to run again
In the past, we´ve made some big mistakes
When the french had a revolution, we didn't support them in their time of need, though they
helped us win our revolution with Britain
We created slavery and hatred tore our country into two, the North and South
Riots ripped our country apart, flooding the streets
However, even though we made some mistakes, we healed our country back again
We stopped slavery
We broke free from an unfair King, free from a place where they made unfair laws and taxes
We are striving to commit to all cultures, colors and characters
We are striving to fix this country and polish it with peace
History has its hopes on us
Abandoned farmhouse poem
“Something went wrong”
For after the BANGs and the shouting, the man and woman vanished. “Before my very
eyes” say the broken chairs. “They turned into pixels and melted, like snow.” say the
broken dishes by the house.
And the child? He was left there, on the floor.
Exactly five lonely, depressing years later, they returned. The man and the woman. The
same way they left. They returned to their broken farm. And the child? He was gone.
“Something was wrong”

Ode to ice cream trucks
That familiar tune always brightened up somebodyś day
That great, big ice cream truck with itś big, fun, colorful way
On the side, the flavors were displayed next to that great big window
People would always, always rush to the truckś side, never stopping, like someone
kindling a fire, exchanging money for popsicles and ice cream
Brilliant varieties and endless flavors
Bursting with flavors
Those ice cream trucks always brought a endless smile to people’s faces
But now theyŕe gone, lost, forever

Dear, the yellow dog
Jack talked and talked and talked about you all the time, like a little boy talking
about a playdate.
He talked about you from your start to your end.
Your end was the saddest part.
Jack wrote endless poems about you, he’d rapid fire stories about you. Jack
once said that you had said the tongue twister , he sells seashells by the sea
shore.BOOM he’d say
But I think he was just joking.
Jack still talks about you, to everyone he knows. He talks and talks, like a missile
shooting out bullets. Jack says that you were the best dog anybody could wish
for.
Oh and he told me to tell you, I hope you’re in doggie heaven, Sky. Happy
Birthday.
Jack didn’t wanna come, I heard him crying.
Happy Birthday, Sky.
Sincerely, one of those big kids on the streets 6
Love that fridge - poem inspired by Walter Dean Myers’s Love that Boy
Love that fridge
Like a dog loves to run
I said I love that fridge
Love it check it after school
Love to see what treasures lie in it
It opens like any old fridge
Pictures of smiling faces grins at you
I said it opens like any old fridge
Pictures of smiling faces grin at you, they never change
Magnets of different places in the world cover it
Every place we go, we buy a magnet
And stick it on that old fridge
That old fridge has held my favorite foods
Ice creams, pies, cakes
That fridge got long roads to walk, before the setting sun
And it’ll be a good fridge before it done

My family
My family is a shiny new fridge
My mom is the strong frame, supporting everyone
My dad is the freezer, keeping everything nice and
cold, pumping cold air in
My brother is the drawers, kinda useless but
sometimes useful
My bunny is the ice cream that makes everyone feel
better
And me? I´m the shelves that keep everything
organized

Scared bear
One day there was a scared bear
Who went to the nearby fair
Who bought some fresh cotton wish
And won a little whittle toy fish
So the bear named it care bear

Ode to summer
Those AC’s never had a break in the summer, it was always steaming
hot out, like an oven. The ground would burn our feet and ice cream
stores would never go out of business. There were endless amounts of
water gun battles and bike rides. Parents would fuss about having
sunscreen on and the floodgates would open up. Pools would have the
best business in the summer.
But, like all good things, they have to come to an end. Tall fall takes
over and the trees prepare for winter. Then another school year starts,
taking over from the last.
