and civilian global markets. The high level of experience and wealth of knowledge the

standards demanded and expected by our customers. 

The KC-135, C-130, C-17/Aeromedical Cargo Light System Kit is a 100% Patriot design effort.   

Customer Requirements: The system was developed in response to a request from the Kansas 
Air Na onal Guard (ANG) seeking to improve the ligh ng on the KC‐135 during aero medical 
missions. We designed, developed and tested a portable kit u lizing our in‐house design engi‐
neering capabili es, experience and in accordance with government furnished informa on. The 
technology prototype was demonstrated, with great success, to the ANG.  

Schedule Requirements: The original ligh ng kit was developed with the ANG and USAF engi‐
neering with first call to fielding 16 systems in 9 months. Systems for the C‐130 and the C‐17 
Ebola pa ent systems were delivered in less than 45 days.  

Program and Contract Management:  Configura on control was maintained throughout. All 
dates set by several contracts have been met or exceeded.  

System Feedback: Feedback from operators and the customers have driven changes to our 
products. Col. Thom Pemberton, Opera ons Group Commander, 927th Air Refueling Wing, said: 
"Our surgeons were having to perform surgery on paƟents and they couldn't see ... this new
lighƟng system will increase the quality of care our troops can receive exponenƟally… the quality
of care for our troops has to be second to none.”

Portable Tactical
Airfield Lighting

The Tactical Airfield Lighting Kit (TALKIT) is a versatile man-portable landing light
system that allows fixed and rotary wing aircraft to identify landing areas or drop zones
at night at distances of up to 5kms.
Able to support non-overt and covert operations, the system contains up to 8 landing
lights, each weighing less than 1 kg, which can be controlled manually or by radio.
The light source is provided by six stacked LED arrays that provide both visual and IR
light output in a range of intensities and as a steady, flashing, or rotating signal. Visible
colors include white, red, and green.
Power is supplied by a rechargeable, high-density lithium-ion battery packs that allow
the system to be used over a broad range of temperatures, typically between -40°C and
+50°C.
