I n t r o d u c t i o n In compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements, CLMC's Health and Safety Section is committed to playing a role in establishing occupational health and safety training opportunities for all staff and laboratory users. CLMC's Occupational Safety and Health Section together with Malaysia One Health University Network (MyOHUN) jointly organized the "Strengthening Biorisk Management In Research Laboratories" Workshop in order to achieve a safe laboratory management system among personnel and users. The establishment of the Biosafety Act 2007 and the Biosafety Regulation 2010, requires all institutions including universities, research institutes and private companies dealing with Modified Living Organisms (LMO/rDNA) and infectious agents/materials. This accordance with the Act and Regulations to ensure the safety of consumers, customers and the environment. This training is also the first time it has been organized at an East Coast university and initiative jointly organized with MyOHUN, which revealed important modules in the practice of Biorisk management awareness in research and also in the teaching and learning process.
O bj e c t i v e Expose participants to the Malaysian Biosafety Act as well as the guidelines and policies involved Empowering a safe laboratory management culture among participants based on biorisk management modules that have been developed by Malaysia One Health University Network (MyOHUN) Forge a network of cooperation with several government agencies interested in the branding of CLMC and UniSZA in the "Biorisk Management" Program. 01 02 03
