Woodland Fields in Yorktown
Heights, had a special guest ap-
pearance from retired Yankee out-
elder Shane Spencer.
e funds raised at the game go
towards Camp Sunshine, a camp
in Casco, Maine that provides a
year-round retreat for children
who have life threatening illnesses
and their families.
“It’s a pleasure of the Yorktown
Police Department to do this ev-
ery year for Camp Sunshine,” said
Tommy Nadoraski, President of
the Yorktown PBA. “We’ll be do-
ing this every year for as long as we
can to help them out.”
e game is organized annu-
ally by Town Councilman Sergio
Esposito and Dr. Rodd Stein. Es-
posito told Yorktown News that
this year’s fundraising is on track
to raise over $10,000.It costs about
$2,500 to send one child and their
family to the camp for a week, ac-
cording to Esposito, and this year’s
goal was to sponsor four children.
If the fundraising goes as antici-
pated, this goal will be met.
