The science of home staging
Solid proof that will help you sell faster

I may have a BA in English, but my passions lie in the sciences and math. GUEST
After a few years in the business world, my love for logic evolved into a successful career as a computer scientist. COLUMNIST
So, when I rst heard that staged homes sell faster than unstaged homes, it seemed to make sense. But I still wondered, “How do they
really know?” Susan Atwell
In my mind, there’s only one way to prove that home staging works, and that’s scienti cally.

HERE ARE THE STEPS:

First, attempt to sell a home “as is” or unstaged. en act experiment with a friend whose home was on the expected to sell for at least seven months. Home staging

STAGING LEADS TO A FINAL SALE AT AN ASTOUNDING $100,000 OVER ASKING PRICE

When I arrive for the initial home staging consultation, the painting is already
in full swing, which is wonderful, but unfortunately, all this upheaval leaves the
home looking cluttered and disorganized.

We want the potential buyers to be greeted well from the moment they step
foot in this house. A simple addition of a table and mirror set out an eye-catching
welcoming vibe.

A bookshelf that is creating a distraction to the true potential of this dining
room is removed and replaced with a painting that helps in creating a seamless

ow to the room. e rest is just clearing and organizing.

REMOVING DISTRACTIONS IS WHAT GREAT STAGING IS ALL ABOUT

Staging doesn’t always need new furniture. is home is an excellent example of how
existing furniture and lighting can be used to create a clean and updated look. Clearing
