tary of the Muscoot Reservoir, providing a
link between routes 100 and 138, where the
Golden’s Bridge train station is located.

Built in 1904 on New York City Water-

Shelter dogs of the week:
Angel, Brutus and Sunshine

Each week, Somers Middle School students Jay and Julia Wilkinson present a pet
looking for a home and poem they were inspired to write about that pet. is week, we

huddled up in a bundle together, staring at me

with wide eyes lled with fear. When the door to

their kennel opened, they refused to move. Slowly, Brutus gives kisses

But slowly they got used to me. e look of fear

in their eyes changed to warmth. ey eagerly ran

toward me, excited to be free. I’ve never felt any-

they were scared before, as I watched them run

around. It turns out Angel, Brutus and Sunshine

path in their life. But looking at them now, all lively
