Second annual
police prayer walk
draws hundreds

second annual prayer walk in Mahopac
Sunday to honor police, as well as other
rst responders and frontline workers
such as re ghters, nurses and EMTs.
e event was created by community
activist Marianne Chaluisan last year to
show support for law enforcement after
all the anti-police rallies in the wake of
the George Floyd murder in Minneapo-
lis.
Last year’s event drew more than
1,000 people, but this year’s walk con-
icted with several other events, which
impacted the turnout.
Still, Chaluisan called the event a
great success.
“It was awesome,” she said. “ e walk
looked like it never ended.”
Chaluisan cited her organizing com-
mittee for making the walk a success.
