birthday on the Fourth of July with
two patriotic events. e town spon-
sored its annual concert at Red Mills
Park, featuring a performance by
Norm Hathaway’s Big Band at the
gazebo. Residents brought blankets
and lawn chairs and picnic baskets
to enjoy the evening, which also fea-
tured Revolutionary War reenactors
and the ring of a cannon.

Meanwhile, Mahopac VFW Post
5491 held a patriot boat otilla on
Lake Mahopac. Boats were adorned
with patriotic bunting and ags and
paraded around the lake much to
the delight of those on the shore
who cheered them on. Back at their
headquarters, the vets enjoyed food,
live music and games.
