I, as a Republican, love the
fact that immigrants can come
here and have a better life legally.
It’s the people that are being
illegally distributed throughout
our country and community
that is cause for concern, and
the undocumented children
leaving their families that can
lead to abuse of them and of our
immigration system. Many are
traveling through an ungodly
journey, some are being attacked
and being sex tra cked. Many
are at the mercy of gangs and
drug cartels, that apparently now
run our southern border and are
getting rich at their expense. In
addition, this can also lead to
these children and their families
being compromised, and other
national security issues.

We as a community of all
people have to stop this. We are
a sovereign nation and a com-
munity; we have to stand up to
protect these children. Open
borders are a danger to all
involved. We have a documented
way to enter our country legally
as a refugee or asylum sta-
tus. Some children I am sure are
going to family members, but
most are not. Most will be in the
system.  ere are overcrowded

is is another major safety con-
cern for our communities. We
are in the middle of a pandemic
and have to follow these rules
and mandates, but the people
crossing the border illegally into
our country and making their
way into Westchester don’t?

ere is something vastly wrong
here.

In addition, Westchester
County Executive George Lat-
imer made Westchester a sanctu-
ary county as soon as he took
o ce, and our county needs new
leadership. Westchester County
Executive candidate Christine
Sculti, and Rob Astorino if
elected Governor, will stop this,
be transparent, and move West-
chester forward.
