Welcome to our Big Game-slash-Valentine’s issue. I love the contrast, and kudos to our design team, which always creatively merges these two distinct themes into one splendid issue. One of the favorite parts of the Big Game is the predictions section in our centerspread. e predictions are a fun read, lled with passion, loyalty, rivalry, and knowledge of the game. I especially enjoyed Chief Noble’s forecast. I love the humor, and coming from a police chief no less. anks, Chief! And you most de nitely won’t want to miss what our very own football stars have to say about Sunday’s showdown! One of our sales team members sent me a text as I was scrambling to compile the predictions that were coming in. It said, “I hope YOU are making a prediction...” I grew up watching soccer in Asia. e World Cup and the English Premier League were all the rage. Never in a million years did I think I would be making predictions for an American football game. But NFL fever did get me this year. I am going with the Chiefs. With a quarterback of such caliber, it’s hard not to pick Kansas City. Pat Mahomes is proving to be smart, keeping his injury on the right track. He should be ready to be back at 100 percent. Unless there is a zombie apocalypse, I think Sunday’s game is going to be epic! My prediction is: Chiefs 31, Eagles 27. Now o to hearts, cakes, and strawberries–our Valentine’s section. Wine enthusiasts, don’t miss the premiere of our new column, Wine Talk with Tish. Bill Tisherman digs deep and has some handy insights in his debut installment, “Bubbles over Baubles.” Glorious food! If you need lastm i n u t e ideas for charcuterie, sandwiches, and desserts for the Big Game or for Valentine’s day, check out the delectable spread at Mahopac’s Bella Cucina. Planning a wedding or other events? e Bubbly Pony, which has its own boutique now, is ready to take your event to the next level. And what better month to feature a soulmate coach? For all the single ladies out there, you want to hear what North Salem resident Kerrie the Soulmate Coach has to say.  We hope you enjoy reading this Big Game issue as much as we have enjoyed putting it together.  Read on! FEBRUARY 9, 2023 – HUDSON VALLEY LIVING – SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT TO HALSTON MEDIA – PAGE 3 BY WHIT ANDERSON SPORTS EDITOR SIBLING RIVALRY Whether the Chiefs or Eagles win on Sunday, the Kelce family will be bringing home a ring in the rst Super Bowl matchup between sibling players. Most fans know of younger brother Travis, the ProBowl tight end for Kansas City, but the older center, Jason, also has multiple Pro-Bowl appearances under his belt, along with a Super Bowl from Philadelphia’s championship in 2017. Proud mother Donna Kelce, who traveled 1,300 miles to watch both her sons’ Wild Card games last year, will be one of the rare fans in attendance rooting for both teams. BREAKING BARRIERS Further history will be made as the matchup between Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts will be the rst Super Bowl dual between two African American quarterbacks. Mahomes having already won in 2020, Hurts will look to join him, Doug Williams, and Russell Wilson as the only black quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl. THE ANDY REID BOWL Making his third Super Bowl appearance, this Sunday holds extra signi cance for Chiefs coach Andy Reid as he becomes the fth NFL coach to face his former team on the grand stage. Reid coached the Eagles from 1999-2012, making many deep playo runs and a Super Bowl appearance in 2004. He is the winningest coach in Eagles’ history (140 wins). REDEMPTION Sunday is a chance for Jalen Hurts’ redemption. Back in 2018 when on the Alabama Crimson Tide, Hurts was benched in the second half of the College Football National Championship against Georgia in favor of breakout star and current Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who led them to a comeback victory. Now Hurts can one-up his former teammate and win on the biggest pro stage. OFFENSE VS. DEFENSE e common narrative going around is that this is a matchup between the high-powered o ense of the Chiefs and the impenetrable defense of the Eagles. And while both teams possess those qualities, Philadelphia (28.1 ppg) is only a little less e cient than Kansas City (29.2 ppg) o ensively. And on defense, the Chiefs do not have the overall team talent of their opponent but possess some bright spots in their defensive ends; Chris Jones and George Karlaftis. COACH OF THE YEAR? Nick Sirianni worked his way up the coaching latter over the past 10 years, holding positions as a wide receiver, assistant quarterback, and o ensive quality control coach for various teams, including the Chiefs in 2009. Now in his second year with the Eagles and leading them to a 14-3 regular season record, Sirianna has a chance to add a ring to his resume, along with a Coach of the Year award. DYNASTY? Having won against the 49ers in 2020 and making a second appearance but falling to the Buccaneers the following year, the Chiefs will be in their third Super Bowl in four seasons on Sunday. And with the chance to pick up their second Lombardi Trophy in four years, one might consider this Kansas City era a dynasty. However, others like me believe a sports team needs to win at least three championships in ve years for that dynasty label. INJURIES Getting back to the quarterback matchup, fans may have noticed both Mahomes and Hurts moving with some discomfort in their AFC/NFC championship games. Mahomes is currently nursing an ankle injury, and Hurts is having trouble with a sprained sternoclavicular (SC) joint. Both troopers for playing through the pain, health will still play a major factor in their production. A STORIED STADIUM State Farm Stadium has a history of hosting big football games. Home of the Arizona Cardinals, it holds the annual college Fiesta Bowl, and has held the 2007, 2011, and 2016 College Football Championships (BCS National Championship until 2015), the Pro Bowl, and two Super Bowls (2008 and 2015). So, nothing new this year, the biggest question will be if weather allows for State Farm’s roof to be open on Sunday. THE HEADLINER For many tuning in, the commercials and performers take precedence over the actual game. ose viewers will be treated to a halftime performance from Rihanna. e superstar pop and R&B singer will be making her rst live performance in over ve years, and her rst Super Bowl performance after ending her self-imposed boycott of the event to demonstrate solidarity with former NFL quarterback and activist Colin Kaepernick. FINAL SCORE is year, I am looking forward to watching  the Super Bowl  surrounded by some good friends as we enjoy the pageantry of it all. Whether you’re screaming at the Chiefs and Eagles to win your box pool, tuning in only for Rihanna at halftime, or just coming along for the melted cheese and saturated fats, I hope everyone enjoys the game, too. FACTS, FIGURES, AND FANATICISM PAGE 4 – HUDSON VALLEY LIVING – SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT TO HALSTON MEDIA – FEBRUARY 9, 2023 Super BY TOM WALOGORSKY EDITOR As we count down to the big game on Feb. 12, it got me thinking about the craze that always surrounds the Super Bowl. I consider myself the epitome of a casual football fan. I know a handful of players on each team, usually have an idea  who is in contention, and make a point to watch a few interesting matchups each season. I don’t live and die by my favorite team (next year will be Buffalo’s year, mark my words), and the outcome of the NFL season doesn’t impact my life all that much. An old roommate of mine was “football guy,” and I never understood the logic of screaming at the television with words of profanitylaced encouragement. To each their own, I suppose. Despite my casual football viewership, I always look forward to the Super Bowl. Not because I need to see who will emerge victorious in the battle between Kansas City and Philadelphia, but because I appreciate the spectacle of it all. I sit down to not only enjoy the game, but also the commercials, the halftime show, and of course the horribly unhealthy food options that come along with the experience. Tom Walogorsky wants a Billy Joel halftime show. Contact him at [email protected] FACTS, FIGURES, AND FANATICISM PAGE 4 – HUDSON VALLEY LIVING – SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT TO HALSTON MEDIA – FEBRUARY 9, 2023 TUNING IN e highest rated installment of the storied showdown came during Super Bowl XLIX in 2015, with an estimated 114.4 million viewers. e contest between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks set the league’s high water mark for viewership. Some research into the most viewed events in television history also revealed some other interesting tidbits. Of the top 20 most watched programs of all time in the United States, 14 have been Super Bowls. e moon landing still occupies the top spot, and Richard Nixon’s resignation speech, the nal episodes of M*A*S*H and Roots, a broadcast of “ e Day After,” and O.J. Simpson’s police chase are the only other non-football programs to make the list. If Tom Brady ever walks on the moon, we just might have a new all-time viewership champion. LORETTA AND ALEXA e Super Bowl is a tricky viewing for people like me. Usually the commercial breaks are reserved for a run to the bathroom or reloading on pretzels. During the big game, I am not a orded this luxury since the commercials are one of my favorite parts of the experience. If I am not thrilled by touchdowns and interceptions, I know that I can nd my entertainment in movie trailers, celebrity cameos, and Clydesdales kicking eld goals. Fitting right in with the bombastic nature of Super Bowl Sunday are the prices for advertising time. e crown for most expensive commercial of all time is a tie between Google and Amazon, with each company shelling out big bucks to advertise their virtual assistants during Super Bowl LIV in 2020. Google’s “Loretta” and Amazon’s “Alexa” both cost $16.8 million for a 90-second commercial spot. at’s a steep price tag to advertise for a device that I use to ask how cold it is outside. HALF TIME During our lifetimes, there are only a handful of events that we can look back on as those landmark occurrences that change life as we know it. I was privy to the halftime show from Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004. Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, and the wardrobe malfunction that altered the course of human history. Ok, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but I still recall being amused by the media frenzy surrounding the controversial half-second of television, resulting in the following years’ halftime shows becoming increasingly noncontroversial. In terms of viewership, Katy Perry’s performance in 2015 holds the top spot with 118.5 million people tuning in, followed by Lady Gaga in 2017 with 117.5 million viewers. I’ll admit I was also particularly fond of last year’s halftime show featuring Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, if only for the spectacle of seeing the popular rappers of my youth now in their 50s. GLUTTON BOWL Like selecting a ne wine to go with French cuisine, it is important to pair unhealthy snacks with my overpriced commercials and gridiron action. Widely accepted as the second biggest “food holiday” behind anksgiving, the Super Bowl provides countless ways to clog our arteries. According to exhaustive (but uno cial) internet research, viewers consume 11.2 million pounds of potato chips, 325.5 million gallons of beer, 8 million pounds of guacamole, and 1.25 billion chicken wings during the big game. Years ago I remember going to Costco the day before the Super Bowl, which was less a shopping trip and more of a battle royale ght for survival. Never again.

BY JESSICA JAFET CONTRIBUTING WRITER Robison, the premier fullservice home comfort company serving Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties, is committed to meeting the needs of its customers as times change. Since 1921, the family-run business that rst opened as a gas station and auto parts store in Hartsdale, has evolved from a company that sold coal to keep people warm and blocks of ice to keep people cool,  into a steady provider of home environment systems and a supplier of more than just oil. roughout the years, it has embraced new technologies while staying attuned to the current needs of consumers. e well-known local brand has built its reputation as a trusted source and one-stop shop for oil, biofuel, natural gas and electricity supply, along with HVAC, plumbing, indoor air quality, duct and carpet cleaning, among other services. e key to success has been its adherence to the company’s core values, which center around providing exemplary service and offering fair prices to its loyal customers. e entire sta operates under the platinum rule, which according to the management team, means serving the customers beyond merely “doing unto others as you would have them do unto you,” and rather by putting each individual homeowner above all else, believing that each deserves the ideal solution according to their requirements.  As many in the region move toward fossil fuel-free units, Robison is able to install and service the newer types of non-combustion heating systems. Whatever decision a client makes for their particular home, the company’s expert sta remains ready to provide support and assistance when choosing a method that is most cost-e ective and reliable for them, says Robison’s President and CEO Dan Singer.  “As a company we are positioning ourselves to try and be what we consider to be the only truly honest broker to the homeowner,” Singer said. “We are fully engaged in helping people retro t their homes to geothermal heating, air-sourced heat pumps, heating and cooling systems—and as to whether or not they want to continue to use oil, natural gas or even propane—we are prepared to help with any one of those solutions and we will really gure out what decision is best for them in their home and on their time horizon.” e Port Chester NY-based company has over 15,000 customers and always has an eye toward the future. It has been an environmentally-conscious leader with the use of cleanburning products that work to collectively reduce the region’s carbon footprint. e petroleum products Robison o ers are currently blended with double the legally required amount of biodegradable biofuel, with the rm being recognized as the largest provider of such fuel in the area.   “We are going to help people reduce carbon emissions, regardless,” Singer said, using the analogy of a varied dinner menu to exemplify  all the options his company o ers to customers.  “Each individual guest in our ‘kitchen’ has their own dietary restrictions and allergies and we spend the time working on all of their needs,” referring to the idea of the numerous choices in home comfort systems.  “All of what we do uses the newest technology, whether we can get there fully through using electric as a source of power or whether there needs to be some contribution from a fossil fuel, we will nd a solution.”  Putting Customers First Robison Leads the Way Dan Singer, President and CEO of Robison Oil PHOTO COURTESY OF ROBISON OIL T PAGE 6 – HUDSON VALLEY LIVING – SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT TO HALSTON MEDIA – FEBRUARY 9, 2023 Robison Oil 914-345-5700 robisonoil.com Robison Oil techs visiting house for checkups and repairs. President Al Morales has been organizing corporate and club leagues through YSA for more than 40 years and has seen the di erence getting to play can make to people’s lives. “From practices, to games, to socializing at local eateries after, it is truly a community that can give you the opportunity to meet new people every time your team takes on a new opponent,” Morales said. e organization’s leagues cover a range of age groups and skill levels, o ering recreational, intermediate, and advanced leagues for players in their 20s to 60 and over. Men’s, and co-ed leagues are available.  e league provides the elds and the umpires, and the players bring the fun.  Teams that play in a YSA league enjoy  an array of added bene ts, such as the softball AllStar game and T-shirts,  postseason awards parties,  championship trophies, jackets, highlight videos,  member specials on pro sports games, equipment, and more. FEBRUARY 9, 2023 – HUDSON VALLEY LIVING – SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT TO HALSTON MEDIA – PAGE 17 Somehow, the hype around the Super Bowl seems to get more raucous every year, and with the “big game” impinging on Valentine’s Day in 2023, people are going to be called upon to do a quick shift from party mode to romance. Are you ready? Are you doing it with owers?… chocolate?… jewelry?… Nobody would stop you, but Valentine’s Day is ripe for a memorable experience, which can be admirably accomplished with a purposefully chosen bottle of wine. While the suds of Super Bowl may be fresh in mind, it’s time to switch to some “tiny bubbles.” Keep it classy: seek out real Champagne over more-pedestrian Prosecco. And not just for image; genuine Champagne, thanks to its time-tested méthode of enlisting a secondary fermentation in the bottle, remains a cut above. Contact with the wine’s spent yeast during this stage gives the wine a toasty, caramel-tinged character and greater depth of avor that a cionados assert is often imitated, but never replicated. Meanwhile, Champagne’s mousse—the bubbles themselves—tend to be both ner and longer-lasting than other sparklers (all the better for a romantic evening). No need to go vintage or rosé here, as non-vintage Champagne itself always imparts a degree of luxury and elegance. I recommend avoiding the beenthere-drank-that Veuve Clicquot; Laurent-Perrier ($65) and Pol Roger ($55) are two readily available options. For a more artisanal statement, opt for “grower Champagne,” which by de nition is made by the same people who harvest the grapes—as opposed to larger rms that contract with hundreds of farmers. Agrapart, Doyard and Bérêche & Fils are three good examples of grower Champagne priced competitively with bigname non-vintage bruts. But dry bubbly is not everyone’s cup of tea. And sweet is not a fourletter word. In fact, it is arguably the most universal of taste preferences. Sharing a sweet wine with your “sweet thing” can also deliver a scrumptious experience at a modest price. Wines made from the Muscat (a.k.a. Moscato), which can be still, sparkling or “sticky,” will always ping the proverbial sweet tooth. (Fun fact: Muscat is the only wine grape thin-skinned and sweet enough to double as a table grape.) Moscato d’Asti, grown and vini- ed in the Asti zone of Piedmont, Italy, stands atop of the quality ladder. ink intense peach fruit, tingling across your tongue, then lingering with a hint of lip-smacking tang. Recommended Moscato d’Asti labels: Saracco ($17), a true pioneer and specialist of the genre; and Vietti ($15), better known for age-worthy Barolo, but clearly in tune with wine’s sweet side. Is chocolate on your V-Day agenda? Some people claim a dry red wine like Merlot goes with chocolate. I say, “Really? Have you ever tried Brachetto?” A red variety, Brachetto thrives in Italy’s Piedmont region and yields a sweet sparkler as generous in raspberry fruit as Moscato d’Asti is in peach. Plus, Brachetto goes nextlevel with dark chocolate—like a ourless chocolate torte coated with berry coulis. Rosa Regale, imported by Ban , is consistently good, widely distributed, and comes in 187ml, 375ml, 750ml and even 1.5-liter sizes. e half-bottle ($15-$17/375ml) is just right for two. Try it with a chocolate bar and see what gets nished rst…. FEBRUARY 9, 2023 – HUDSON VALLEY LIVING – SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT TO HALSTON MEDIA – PAGE 23 BY VIM WILKINSON EDITOR Meet Kerri Iannuzzi, a North Salem resident who has found success with relationships through life coaching and is now using her experience and knowledge to help others. Kerrie specializes in helping single women meet and marry their soulmates. “Getting married is not as complicated as you think; I can teach you,” said the relationship coach on her website. Kerrie admitted that she too struggled to nd a match and dated aimlessly for over 15 years before investing in her rst life coach. She learned the tools and skills needed to manage her mind, emotional life and step into her self-worth. She met her soulmate after just under three months of practising her newly learned skills. We caught up with Kerrie to learn more about her services.  Who are your primary clients? I help single women aged 35-plus meet and marry their soulmates in a way that feels aligned and enjoyable. at was the age I was when I rst learned these tools I now teach. What are some of the most common problems your clients come to you with?  Staying in relationships too long and allowing behavior that doesn’t feel good to them. Also, staying with partners who will not (and cannot) give them the commitment they desire.  What are some of the biggest mistakes that lead to a failing relationship?  Women not asking for the commitment they truly want and not leaving when they don’t get it. I see women stay in “situationships” with men for over 20 years, waiting for them to be ready for marriage just to watch him marry someone else in a few months. Tell us brie y about the service you o er and what makes it e ective.  I meet with my clients one-onone for three months over Zoom for one hour per week. We discuss how to use your thinking in a way that helps you get what you want and no longer make decisions based on fear. For example, staying with someone too long because you are scared of being alone, which winds up wasting more time when you eventually break up because this person was never right for you from the beginning. Life coaching is truly the fast track to love. It helped me and my many clients, and it can help you too!  For more information visit coachingwithkerrie.com Kerrie Iannuzzi The soulmate coach Have you ever met a partner and felt instantly attracted? ey tell you they can’t wait to spend the rest of their life with you, and before you know it, it’s total infatuation.  You may start to daydream about your wedding, your new home and more. But after a few weeks, he starts to pull away or become distant.   e closer you try to get to him, the more he distances himself.   en comes the “Work’s been so busy lately,” “I have plans this weekend and won’t be around,” and “I need space.”  Sound familiar? You may have met a “future faker.” Future fakers sell you a detailed version of a fantasy “future” they have no intention on delivering on. To avoid this, you should pace the relationship, go as slow as you feel comfortable with, and never go at someone else’s speed. Use this time  to accurately judge his character, your connection and your compatibility with him and his congruency (does what he says match up with what he does?). - Kerrie FEBRUARY 9, 2023 – HUDSON VALLEY LIVING – SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT TO HALSTON MEDIA – PAGE 23 Meet Kerri Iannuzzi, a North Salem resident who has found success with relationships through life coaching and is now using her experience and knowledge to help others.
