cademic excellence is the hallmark of the public school system in Ridgewood.
The Ridgewood Public Schools system is made up of five elementary schools, two
middle schools and one high school. In addition, the district offers a high-quality
licensed day care facility for infants and preschool children on the site of a former elementary
school, where there is also a special education preschool program, a pre-K program (age
four) and a transitional Kindergarten program (age five).
The Ridgewood Community School (RCS) is an integral part of the Ridgewood Public School
system. Offering a broad array of continuing education courses for adults and children, the
community school’s many trips, tours and after-school sports and music programs make it
the largest around.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS
For weather-related and other emergency closings, cancellations or delayed open-
ings, a message will be sent to parent/guardian emergency contact numbers and
email via the district’s emergency notification system. Alerts are also posted to the
district website and Facebook and Twitter. Emergency closing information can also
be obtained from: television news (Fox 5 WNYW-Channel 5, WNBC TV-Channel 4,
WCBS TV-Channel 7, Cablevision Channel 12), myfox-ny.com or 7online.com. Please
DO NOT CALL the police or fire departments or the individual schools for information
on the closing of schools. These departments are not prepared to handle inquiries.

and his own knowledge and experience to create a high-level system, that integrates Eastern and

Western medicine to find the root cause of patient’s chief complaints. Marcus is known for his
