Great grads! North Salem — at least for now,
town o cials decided last week.
Congratulations to the North Salem High School Class of 2021!
Be sure to check out our special graduation insert, featuring photos, speeches, and interviews! After taking comments —
both pro and con — at a public
hearing, the Town Board voted
unanimously on Tuesday, June
22, to adopt a local law opting
out of allowing places where rec-
reational cannabis is sold or con-
sumed on site.

Municipalities are opted-in
by default if they do nothing.
Once in, they can’t back out; but
by opting-out, they can always
change their minds later on.

Neighboring Somers passed
its opt-out law on June 10. Lew-
isboro was set to hold a public
hearing on the matter on Mon-
day, June 28. Yorktown plans to
hold a public hearing on Tuesday,
July 6.

Albany, having legalized adult
use, gave municipalities until the
end of the year to decide if they
