intent to attend St. Bonaventure where he is expected to play forward for the Bon-
nies’ varsity program. He has served the Cavaliers mainly as the prop on the front
row, providing stability at the scrum and making his presence felt in the rucks.

A former captain and president of St. Bonaventure’s rugby team in the early
1990s, Harvey’s head of the upper school and current rugby coach Phil Lazzaro is
pleased to see one of his ruggers play for his college alma mater.

“Lucas is a dedicated student-athlete who has worked hard on becoming a bet-
ter rugby player,” said Mr. Lazzaro, adding, “He’s got great hands for a forward
and loves contact.” He expects Lucas to be a forward in the nationally ranked
St. Bonaventure rugby program. Mr. Lazzaro praised Lucas for being “a positive
teammate and mentor to new rugby players.”

Chirico is looking forward to getting the chance to play for the Bonnies. ”I’m
excited about next season and hope to make a positive impact and develop more
throughout the next level,” he said. Lucas credits his years at Harvey with helping
him to achieve success. “Harvey taught me how to get my priorities straight and
focus on my end goal, which is to be the best at whatever I choose to do,” Chirico
said.

Chirico and his parents were on hand Wednesday, April 14, when Harvey host-
ed a ceremonial signing of his letter of commitment to attend St. Bonaventure and
play rugby for the university located in Allegany, New York.
