Town Councilman Michael Barile has once again
found himself in the crosshairs of a Journal News

property owned by the councilman, a former devel-

and also claims some of the permitting process was
skirted.

In question is the sewer disposal system at Blu
Restaurant on Route 6N—property owned by Bari-

Mahopac Beach, a hamburger stand, which Barile

NEED e audience for acts like Blue Oyster Cult and David
Cassidy are a completely di erent demographics. How does
US. Ayala nd a way to please both with her music?

“I feel my music can cross over into both pop and rock; my
writing style is crafted to t both, depending on the arrange-
ment,” she said. “My performances are often tailored to meet
the act I am opening for.”

Ayala said it is hard to believe it’s been more than three
years since her life-changing appearance on “ e Voice.”

“It’s mind-blowing to think it’s been that long,” she said.
“It was a surreal moment. Since then my notoriety has sky-
rocketed.”

Ayala said she wants to take advantage of lm and televi-
sion platforms to help get her music heard.

“Last November, I went to Nashville to lm for a show
called, ‘Who Will Rock You?’ I was a quarter nalist. It
opened new doors and got me more attention performing in
Nashville. I got to play Nashville, so that checked one thing
o my bucket list.”

Ayala said it hasn’t been easy to come to grips with she’s
famous, or at least almost famous.

“It’s kind of weird at the moment,” she said. “I am actually
living the life of people who are in those shoes. But it’s the
normal reality now.”

She said she does get recognized when she’s out and about.
“It happens from time to time, usually when you don’t ex-
pect it,” she said. “People will stop me and say, ‘You were on
television!’ It makes my day every time.”
Ayala said she wants to slowly incorporate more original
songs into her set; she doesn’t want to be known as just a cov-
ers artist. She said the biggest rush a performer can experi-
ence is when the audience knows the lyrics to your song and
sings along.
“It’s happened a couple of times,” she said. “I did a show at
Daryl’s House (the iconic music venue in Pawling) and I saw
people singing a long and thought, ‘ is is awesome! is is
what I want for the rest of my life!”
Ayala’s single, “Lost You,” is available on all music plat-
forms, including iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, Pandora, iHeart, and
more.
