An end-user profile can help to make appropriate design choices based on their interests, tastes and styles. It should paint a picture of who your intended end product is for, as well as defining
their likes and dislikes.

A design brief is a written statement outlining the design problem and its requirements, and how that need must be fulfilled or met.
The Ciano family have recently renovated their new house in Watsonia. The owners of the house, Enzo and Maria, have taken care and time in fixing up the house, to make it feel more modern and liveable. The house is located on a
corner block, with an old, brick structure. They have two children, Nicholas (18) and Christian (7). Nicholas is going into his final year of schooling, whilst Christian is settling into life at primary school. Due to the expensive costs of schooling,
Enzo and Maria do not want to overspend on the house.
One space which took a lot of time to renovate was the living room. The living room is a place where the Ciano family love to kick back and relax and spend the night in front of the television. With time consuming jobs, Enzo and Maria
both look forward to coming home and spending some time winding down after a difficult day. The living room is also a space where the Ciano family can spend some family time, watching movies together or playing board games,
which brings them closer together. Nicholas is also an avid video game player and enjoys time to chill away from the tiring hours of Year 12.
Due to the renovation, the Ciano family have decided to upgrade the furniture in the living room. Their old furniture was very outdated, and so far, they have bought a new couch and a 65” TV. Enzo and Maria have encountered a
problem, though: they cannot find an affordable TV unit. Many modern TV units are very expensive, and with not enough storage. This is why the Ciano family have contacted me to make them a family friendly, multi storage TV unit. The
TV unit may also be sourced from sustainable and local materials.
Enzo and Maria have renovated the house to make each room seamlessly flow into one other. The common theme in each room is light colours, with the walls and roof painted white and many of the pieces of furniture having the main
feature as being wooden, Therefore they want the new TV unit to be a feature piece in the living room. They want this TV unit to stand out from the rest of the room, becoming a centrepiece when entering the room. The TV unit may be
created from different types of wood suitable for the space. They want this completed by the end of the school year of 2020 so that Nicholas and Christian have a place to relax at the beginning of the long Christmas holidays, and it must
have a budget under $1000. The design must meet Australian Standards so that it is safe to use for the end user, and it must be structurally supportive to hold the various entertainment equipment and media items.
Due to the size of the TV, Enzo and Maria would like the TV unit to be big enough to hold it. It must have dimensions of 2600 x 600 x 500 because this is as much room as they can afford to use. They would also like it to have sperate
compartments. Due to Maria’s passion for reading, it must have a compartment for holding thick novels which can be easily accessed. As Nicholas is an avid gamer, there must be space for his PlayStation controllers, as well as a
compartment for storing the PlayStation. Enzo enjoys watching movies in his spare time, so there must be a space which can store multiple DVDs.

As a result of the design brief, it can be concluded that my end-user needs a safe and secure place to house entertainment equipment and various media. This information will help guide the 9
production of the end product, therefore making sure all the required criteria is fulfilled.

This is the comparison from the final computer aided design compared to the actual finished product. It shows how the product came to life from a design, and the similarities between them.
Computer Aided Design Finished Product
In this stage, the real-life product is compared to the one in which was designed. It is amazing to see the final product as designed with slight modifications come to life and be completed to
such a high standard. Although there were a couple of aesthetic and jointing changes from the original design the sketch up drawing produced in the design process is shown to be mirrored
in the production of the actual product. 125
