General Principles

Despite these difficult and uncertain times POINT continue to take all reasonable steps to provide safe
and healthy conditions for staff, volunteers, service users and partners taking necessary steps to ensure
compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.

Our Approach

POINT continue to follow national and local government advice to ensure that our services are Covid
secure and detailed risk assessments continue to be reviewed and updated in line with this guidance.
The following points outline our approach to the management of covid-19:

• Wherever possible, team members will work from home until guidance confirms it is safe to
return to the workplace.

• Opening of POINT premises will determined in line with the legislation and Government
guidance.

• POINT will only carry out activities where we are assured this can be done safely, a risk
assessment has been completed, and control measures have been implemented.

Risk Management

POINT will manage the risk of COVID-19 through 4 key mechanisms of infection control. The following
summarises these mechanisms and how POINT will achieve these standards.
Social distancing and limiting contact

• POINT will make changes to our building environments to encourage social distancing
considering how we can welcome visitors safely.

• POINT will make changes to how we deliver services, including the introduction of an
appointment only system to limit contact with others.

Environmental hygiene
• POINT will ensure our building is well ventilated.
• POINT will ensure we maintain excellent environmental cleaning across our premises.

Personal hygiene; and where appropriate
• POINT will ensure we have the facilities available to encourage excellent personal and respiratory

hygiene (bins, tissues, hand sanitiser and wash hand basins).

Personal, Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Our team will wear the PPE required to keep them and others safe.

Signage and visual reminders will be placed throughout POINT premises to encourage
everyone to support our infection control measures.
