Hello Friends,

Welcome back to St.Xavier’s college and your many memories of 89-92.

This re-union is an excellent opportunity for us to rewind to our past and celebrate our success. In 25 years, we have moved around the world. We have from our batch, great
teachers, entrepreneurs and techies who have made themselves and their family proud.

I had the pleasure of talking to many of you around the world in the process of creating this yearbook. I got to know each of you better. It was immensely moving to
understand what you plan to do in future. Arockiyasamy wants to be a farmer, Mani Thirumalai wants to be a movie producer and Meeran wants to do philanthropy. Alex,
Ashok, Loyola and Vasanth are teachers and they are moulding the next generation. I had many lighter moments too including John Bosco explaining losing to me in the
elections and Valavan saying that he plans to be in the earth by 2025.

When you read the magazine, I reckon you will nd it very interesting too. We are all a product of Tirunelveli and I wanted to present the native legacy. I also hope you have
something to show your kids about your past.

Finally, the planning group wanted to give me “Theeya Velai Seyyum Kumaru” award. Thanks. The story is yours and my job was only to present it. Thank you for the wonderful
opportunity and wishing you all the very best.

We are all at a point in life where we can contribute to the future generations and we will. Thank you St.Xavier's college for making us who we are.

Dear Friends,

25 years passed since we bid farewell on the last day of our B.Sc. Computer Science at St.Xavier's college in the year 1992. But still our college days are very fresh in our minds
and hearts.

St.Xavier's, Palayamkottai played a major role in my life as I spent 10 years of my education career there from 6th std. to under graduate. In those 10 years, the 3 years in
St.Xavier's college stands out as a special one and very particularly the 2 years of hostel life during the 2nd and 3rd year.

If I get a time machine that allows me to go back to a period of my life and re-live it, without any second thought I will go back to the day when my father and I met
Rev.Fr.Peter Xavier in our college campus for accommodation in our hostel and live the 2 years once again with the same people (no mobile, no Facebook, no WhatsApp).

Thank you friends, our great professors and St.Xavier's institution. I wish we spend more time together in the coming years.

It has been a pleasure to keep this group connected. Over the years, we have met many times and had fun times. It was also immensely satisfying to trace and nd those who
were missing in action and getting them back to our group. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hello,

I am very happy to know about the get-together and silver jubilee celebration arranged by 1989-92 batch students who completed their B.Sc in the Degree in
the Dept. of Computer Science, when I was the Head of the Department. This will give them an occasion to reunite with their class-mates and teachers and
recollect their happy experiences as students in our Department.

You know about my approach towards the students i.e.-strict discipline combined with love, a ection and regard for the students. I will always encourage when
any student does a good work and point out and try to correct him, when a student goes away from his duty as a student. Moreover, I always like all my students
to be good disciplinarian, possessing the virtues like sincerity, truthfulness in words and action, hard work, patriotism, regard for their Parents, Teachers and
Alma-mater, soft heart towards poor, disabled and old people.

Due to this approach of mine, I feel that I may have wounded some students. In this context, I like to point out to such students that I had to be like that only for
their welfare. If any student has a scar in his mind, I request such students to wipe away such a scar from his mind and get reunited with me through love,
a ection and regard. I take this opportunity to convey this to all batches of Physics students from 1965-1987 and Computer Science students from 1985 till May
2000.

It is a great honour and delight for me personally, and for all of us, the current professors and students of the Computer Science Department, to welcome you
back to the St. Xavier’s campus, where you spent 3 years of your life. This attempt for a reunion is meant to o er you a chance to meet friends and professors with
whom you spent many years together.

I could still remember my time with you during your college days. I was fortunate to have your mates Michael and Peter Vedamuthu at my wedding at Trichy. I am
happy to recall my association with Germanus and Ashok as colleagues at St. Xavier’s. I attended both of their marriages. Germanus came to my house warming
ceremony. I still remember Germanus and Ashok with their family attending the function organized by Dr.S.Ambrose on his retirement. I could not forget ever
enthusiastic John Bosco and studious Khader Meeran who used to ask lots of doubts in the classroom.

I would like to reiterate the role you play in the wider society. Most of you hold key positions of in uence. I would appreciate to see that you use the in uence to
direct the development of our society positively. You should always endeavour to uphold good morals and act as an inspiration to the society. I am also extremely
proud and fortunate that you have been an important part of our institution and will always remain in our hearts forever.

Dear My Beloved Students,

This is your Victor Sir. You are my second batch after I joined the department in the year 1988. Really I enjoyed your love, a ection and respect. It was my privilege
to teach you the rst programming language (BASIC). I enjoyed teaching such an enthusiastic student group. Now you may the stalwarts in the recent
technologies and you may be now running 40+ but still I remember you as the innocent young ones in the age group of 17 to 19.
Those days I used to remember the names of all 24 students according to their department number, of course, now it is not the case (became old). I still
remember the days we spent at Ooty during the tour and our stay at Geetha lodge, Coimbatore.
I cannot forget the smiling face of Arunachalam, soft spoken Arockiasamy (has he became a citizen of Singapore?), calm Maria Valavan, dry lips of Jincilin Mathan,
Cute and Tiny Peter Vethamuthu Rajesh, Thenavettu Manikandan, thundering laughter of Micheal Samy, Studious Ramakrishnan, etc. Germanus Alex, Ashok
Kumar and Loyola are my teaching fraternity. After a long gap I met Kadhar Meeran Maraikayar at his textile shop. Others kindly excuse me, as the years pass by
your names and memories gone down to the bottom of my memory stack(Data Structure?!).
Above all I thankfully remember the participation of Ashok Kumar, Arockiasamy, Ramakrishnan, Maria Valavan, Micheal Samy, Rajesh, Manikandan, Jincilin Mathan
and Arunachalam in my marriage on 13-12-1992 at my village Ulagampatty, even after the completion of the course at St. Xavier’s.
I take this opportunity to thank all those who had generously contributed to the silver jubilee celebration of our department during my tenure as the HOD.
I am sure you will practice the values you gained from St.Xavier’s in your personal life as well as at your work place.

My dear friends,

I am very happy for your re-union after so long. In your long journey of life, for sure, the time spent at St.Xavier’s College doing B.Sc Compute Science, might be
the happiest time and you might have learnt the core values of life. We are honored and blessed in being part of that happiness and sharing the values.

Looking back the memories of the time spent with you guys….Still remember the class room, the stage, the places most of you guys sit, electronics
lab..wow…amazing. The elderly father face of Avudaiyappan enacted in a drama in our college auditorium still stays as a slide in my eyes. The scintillating voice of
Arockiasamy still rings in my ears. The activeness of Manikandan as class rep is still remembered. Able to understand the up’s and down’s of life with roller-coaster
ride of Tom in studies. The beautiful hand writing (J) of my brother Michael still makes me laugh. The unique style of John Bosco. Many, Many more….Still I am
able to remember many of your faces crystal clear in my mind.

You are all now spread all over the world achieving great heights of your life both in personal and professional areas. We all are very glad to see your
achievements. Even though it is not an advice but to share what I felt - Enjoy every moment of your life, always do good and be the ambassadors of goodness, live
a happy life with your family and friends.

Professor Ambrose rejected many o ers to colleges and universities after retirement to start an educational institution of his own
from June 2007. He continues to impart disciplined education to small children. Professor Ambrose is currently working to
upgrade the school to Higher Secondary school from academic year 18-19. He also continues to serve the needy via his

After moving on from St.Xavier’s college in 2000, Dr. Xavier was with HCL for 14 years in various roles based out of Chennai,
London and Noida. After a short stint in Tech Mahindra, Dr. Xavier is now Vice President, Group Competitiveness – Automation at

Capgemini. He is an expert in Expert in Automation, Arti cial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics.

Dr. Walter Jeyakumar continues to serve St.Xavier’s College as an Associate Professor. He completed M.Phil and Ph.D from
Manonmanium Sundaranar University. Dr. Walter is currently interested in Networks and Mobile Computing.
