BRITTANY BREEZE
Issue 10-12
POINT BRITTANY HAS DONE IT AGAIN!
Point Brittany has been awarded the June, 2012 “Community in the Spotlight” from
At-Home-Net, our website hosting organization. Listed below is the article that was written
in their Gazette Newsletter that went out to communities across America and abroad.
Community in the Spotlight - Point Brittany Condominiums
Nestled in the vibrant city of St. Petersburg Florida, surrounded by pristine sunsets and serene
beaches, June's Community in the Spotlight has bragging rights of their own. Point Brittany
Condominiums, awarded the 2011 Association of the Year by Community Associations
Institute - Suncoast Chapter, boasts an active lifestyle in their beautiful region and is proud of the
opportunities they are able to offer residents.
Built in 1968, Point Brittany is the premiere 55+ community in Southern Pinellas County and
features 10, 15, and 18 story high-rise buildings with breathtaking panoramic water views. The
Board of Directors and management exceed expectations with their excellent cooperation and
outstanding dedication to maintaining a high-quality of life within the community. Residents define
the true meaning of community at Point Brittany. They show genuine compassion and care for one
another from remembering anniversaries to leaving a plate of cookies at a neighbor's door.
According to Mr. Allen Darnell, "You are always family at Point Brittany."
This community has many activities and groups that keep residents active, healthy and social.
Activities range from yoga and tai chi to ceramics and art classes. Various groups like: The Men's
Roundtable, Ladies of Point Brittany, The Point Brittany Yacht Club, and The Brassy Brittany
Babes host a variety of monthly, weekly, and daily activities such as: luncheons with guest
speakers, dinner dances, tea parties, and other exciting outings.
Point Brittany's Board of Directors, with residents support, continues to ensure their community
progresses with the changing needs of current and future residents. They use their website as a
key point of communication between residents, committees, and the Board of Directors. Residents
are able to stay informed and communicate in an efficient and cost-saving manner.
Congratulations, Point Brittany on your recent award of Association of the Year, being an
At-Home-Net Community in the Spotlight, and creating a wonderful community for your
energetic residents!

your unit before a storm or inspect your unit after a storm. Listed below are shelters that are close

RESIDENT INFORMATION
On Saturday, June 23, 2012, a storm started brewing off the West Coast of Florida and seemed
to be confused as to how to proceed. By Sunday many forecasters reported that it would go west
toward Texas. Finally on Monday the 25th the storm became Tropical Storm Debby, missing
Texas completely and practically parking itself off the coast producing very high winds and over
20” of rain before finally moving on and making landfall north of Tampa Bay. There was no time
to prepare, just brace ourselves and hope for the best. Many units experienced water damage
from the strong wind driven rain. While it is said many times, when damage occurs one forgets…
The unit owner is responsible for all damage inside the unit. It does not matter who or
what caused the damage, it only matters where the damage occurred as to who is
financially responsible. Protecting your unit and belongings should be your first priority.
Contact your insurance agent immediately to report the damage. Contact a professional
water extraction company to dry out the unit. While many owners attempt to dry out the
unit on their own, it never really achieves the desired result which is a dry unit not
producing mold.
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night nor Tropical Storm Debby
