Fairy
Ah! Look my tooth

Tooth Fairy?

Angelina the fairy lives in Fairyville, a land far, far away. She
is very excited. It is her turn to visit Earth today for the
very first time.

‘Angelina,’ the Fairy Mother says, ‘today you must
choose a job. Choose carefully. Think of how you can
help others.’

The Fairy Mother sprinkles fairy dust on Angelina.

‘Off you go!’ she says, blowing her a kiss.

Angelina flies to Earth and lands in a park. She hears
some children talking. ‘Kusha is not well,’ says Dora, a
small girls with glasses. ‘She hasn’t come out to play with
us today.’

‘I miss her,’ says Vanya. ‘Me too,’ says Reema. ‘She makes me laugh.’

Angelina wants to know why Kusha has not come out to play with her friends.

She flies across the park to Kusha’s house. Kusha is inside.
She has lost a tooth and does not feel well. Angelina sprinkles fairy dust on
Kusha’s head. Kusha cannot see the fairy, but suddenly she feels better. Kusha
runs out to join her friends.
Everyone is happy to see Kusha. They play games and sing songs.

That night, Angelina goes back to the Fairyville. ‘What did you see on Earth?’ her
Fairy Mother asks her. ‘Did you choose a job?’
‘Mother, I saw lots of children,’ said Angelina. ‘I
love the way they talk and play and sing songs.
A little girl lost her tooth today, and I made her
feel better. I want to help children like her.’
‘Helping others is a great job,’ the Fairy Mother
says. ‘And whenever a child loses a tooth you can
bring it back to Fairyville to turn it into a star.’
So Angelina becomes the Tooth Fairy. Since
then, when boys and girls lose a tooth, the
Tooth Fairy comes to collect it. Then she turns
it into a twinkling star to shine over Fairyville!

woman and her husband
lived in Japan. Every day,
the man went out to cut

One day, when the woman

that she and her husband would have the peach for dinner. So she took it home.
When her husband came in, he was very happy to see the peach. He took a big
knife and cut it in half. A small boy jumped out of the peach. At first, the husband

they were happy and decided to bring him up as their son. They named him
Momotaro. Momo means ‘peach’ in Japanese, and Taro is a Japanese boy’s name.

in the village. One day, Momotaro heard about the devils who spread fear among
the people. He decided to go to the land of the devils. He wanted to fight them
and make them run away. His parents were not happy. At first, they did not
want him to go, but at last, they agreed. They made some rice cakes for him. He
packed the rice cakes in a backpack and said goodbye to his parents.
On the way, he met a dog. ‘Momotaro, where are you going? And what have you
got in that bag?’ the dog asked.
‘I am going to the land of the devils,’ Momotaro said.
‘I have rice cakes in the bag.’ He opened it. ‘If you come with me to fight the
devils,’ he said, ‘then I will give you a cake.’
‘Yes, I’ll come,’ said the hungry dog, and Momotaro gave him a rice cake. Then
they met a chicken. Momotaro gave a rice cake to the chicken, and the chicken
joined Momotaro and the dog. Then they met a monkey. Momotaro gave a rice
