Blue Marine Skimmers

The Blue Marine Skim 600 and 2000 are quality Sump
Skimmers with a high air intake rate. The air intake is
the most important feature for a protein skimmer, the
skimmers have an air intake of respectively 450 and 1200
liters per hour!

The contact time between air and water is the second most
important point, the venturi-system and the Needle Wheel
rotor together with the bubble diffusor plate ensures an
optimized air/water contact time in the skimmer body.
These 3rd generation Blue Marine skimmers are equipped
with a new DC power pump with the latest inverter technology
allowing energy saving, noise control and a precise adjustable
water flow. The Blue Marine Sump Skimmers have a large
foam collection cup with convenient draining outlet, complete
with hose and valve for easy cleaning.

Skimmer operating principle:

A protein skimmer is a type of mechanical filter, works by
introducing high levels of air bubbles through a body of water
containing waste materials. The waste -excess bacteria, corals
toxins, waste products from animals, and even uneaten food-
mainly composed by proteins are attracted to the air water
interface and flow upwards with the surface where they can
be collected.

The Blue marine skimmer help maintain low nitrate levels by
retarding nitrate buildup. They remove organic waste before it
has a chance to break down and release nitrogen compounds.
The use of a protein skimmer is essential in reef aquariums
where a very low nitrate level is crucial for coral health.

A.T.O. Auto Top Off System

With the Blue Marine A.T.O. you can automaticaly refill your tank or sump. The set is complete
with a Infrared sensor, hose and pump. The small sensor is placed in the tank or sump. In case
the water in the tank is below the minimum level, the sensor automaticaly turns on the small
pump which will refil the tank with water from a resevoir. The sensor has a triple sensing point
with indicator (LED light) and an alarm (red flashing LED) in case of operation errors or failures.
