About Psychology Psychology is the scientific study of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. This field attempts to identify and understand various psycho-physical processes within as well as between individuals. Programmes at NCU The Bachelor's & Master's program in Psychology at the NorthCap University prepares students to explore and contribute to the growing career avenues in the field of Psychology. In Bachelor's, students learn about the history of the discipline, its theoretical foundations, and its numerous branches, including Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Human Development, Physiological Psychology, and Human Resource Management. Manovriti: The Psychology Club of NCU The students and faculty of Psychology at NorthCap University have established a club to propagate awareness regarding Mental Health in society. The club aims to build a sensitive, compassionate, and well-informed community about mental health issues and can dispute the stigma and misconceptions around mental disorders. The club regularly holds events and workshops to practice what it preaches so that the benefits of these objectives extend to the public outside the campus too. Faculty Profiles Mr. Ashish is a Gold-Medalist in the M.A. Psychology course from Kurukshetra University. He has qualified the UGC-JRF, PGIMER Fellowship, and IIT-GATE for Psychology in General Category. He has also been a Clinical Psychology (MPhil.) Trainee at the Govt. Medical College Chandigarh before he chose to pursue his Ph.D. in Social Justice. He is currently authoring books on Social Psychology & Human Personality. His areas of command in teaching are Social Psychology, Psychological Testing, Research Methodology and Statistics, Personality, Biopsychology and Cognitive Psychology. His interests also extend to the fields of Philosophy, Sociology, Politics, Linguistics and the Legal System. His current research work is related to Obedience, Conformity, Compliance, Attitudes, Motivation, Personality and Human Development. His teaching methods are memory based and oriented towards preparing the students for professional careers and higher courses from top institutes. Mr. Ashish Budhwar Ms. Harshita Jha completed her Masters in Psychology from Indraprastha College for Women (Delhi University) in 2016. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lady Shri Ram College for Women (Delhi University). Harshita has previously worked as a research fellow in the field of Military Psychology, at the Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DRDO, New Delhi). In addition, she was engaged with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (New Delhi) in the capacity of Field Investigator for the project Longitudinal Aging Study of India (Harmonized Diagnostic Assessment Tool for Dementia). She is currently pursuing her PhD in the field of environmental psychology and green marketing. Her primary interest areas include Social Psychology, Environmental Psychology and Indian Psychology. Her long term goals include application of psychological concepts and theories in the realm of public policy. Ms. Harshita Jha Ms. Swati Tickoo is an alumni of Department of Psychology, University of Delhi. She has pursued her Bachelors, Masters, and PhD from University of Delhi. Her areas of interest include Indian psychology, Mysticism, Transpersonal Psychology and Archetypal Psychology. She is a lifetime member of Life time Member of Indian Academy of Health Psychology and a member of Ahmedabad Jung Center, DG of International Analytical Association of Psychology. She has multiple published papers in UGC Listed journals as well as more than two and half years’experience in research and industry.
