ESSAY:
HOW WE BECOME STRONGER WHEN
WE ARE FACED WITH DIFFICULT TIMES IN LIFE
Do we ever heard of the adage “what doesn't kill you
makes you stronger"? The hidden meaning behind it is
that, overcoming adversity has its advantages. We will
become stronger and more successful in life if we
persevere through difficult circumstances.
According to psychologists, stressful circumstances might
make you physically and mentally stronger. People who
have gone through post-traumatic growth have reported
positive changes in their interactions with others, a greater
appreciation for life, and new opportunities in life,
according to research. Keep in mind that those who have
been through difficult experiences are frequently the
brightest and most well-rounded persons we will ever
encounter, as they have surmounted obstacles
and have fascinating experiences to be told.
For an overall view, in this essay I would like to discuss
how we become stronger when we are faced with
difficult times in life.

First and foremost, can we imagine of one day when we will
never see those beautiful blinking eyes of our beloved one anymore –
maybe our parents, our siblings, our wife, or anyone else that we
know. Are we prepared? For some people, they must have gone
through that and they got to understand something. So the first idea
here is, losing someone we love and going through such hardship
potentially can make us gain a potent soul. If we think deeply in the
heart, when we lose a loved one, what we will learn is the way on how
to accept the reality of living in this world – all living things once will
eventually die. In addition, we can also understand how important it is
to fall in love with people.
Being surrounded by hardships and difficulties will teach us to value
the people in our life for who they are, giving our complete, honest self
to these folks without worrying not being good enough because life is
never twice! Nowadays, people losing their jobs, being sick, or being
severely ill in the hospital are all things we that always we hear about.
These are the events that mess with our emotions and make us feel
angry, disoriented, or powerless. Try to keep in mind that the only
thing we need is, to be consistently patient. Life is more delicate,
fleeting, and brief than it appears. Someone is making plans for
tomorrow without realizing that they will die today. Our time need to
be spent wisely and try to take a sufficient break to enjoy what you
have. Life is supposed to be experienced, felt fully, and savored.

Besides dying, growing
older is also an identical part of
our life cycle. As we grow to the
higher ages, the heaviness of
bearing such responsibility
comes from numerous directions.
My second idea will indicate the
statement: being burdened with
a lot of works and emotionally
pressured will make your mental
tougher. Imagine of a situation
when we with a bad public speaking
skills are asked to deliver a presentation to a local organization,
a normal stress response would be an increase in heart rate
and constriction of blood vessels. Because of this stressful
moment, two important changes await us. First, this moment is
the best opportunity for us to train ourselves to control stress.
Second, we will force ourselves to remain relax during this
moment which is by thinking positively of the stressful feelings
as healthy and helpful. For example, as the source of energy
needed to stay focused and speak more powerfully. Otherwise,
whenever we struggle to accomplish something and then made
it up after several of trials and fails, we started to gain a
powerful mindset – never give up!
Furthermore, we will realize that the process, not the result, is
what determines success. We cannot focus to reach the highest
goal the whole time, but we must consistently keep working and
trying our best every single day. Hence, our daily behaviors
determine your level of success. It is your perseverance and
determination that will allow you to complete the task.

Experiencing ups and downs
can probably give a positive impact to
ourselves because they are a turning
point where the terrible becomes the
good. They are an opportunity to make
a better change on your perspective
and outlook on life, enabling you to
grow as a person. Last but not least,
they are assisting you slowly to
generate a pure hearth. As we know,
empathy is defined as the ability to put
ourselves into another person's shoes.
From the challenges we have
experienced, we will be more sensitive
of other people's feelings whenever we
see them going through difficult times
as we have been there before too. We
have been through all their experiences
and sufferings; thus, we truly
understand their requirements.
After a number of severe times again
and again, we will be able to tolerate
the feelings of stress, anxiety, and
sadness that accompany trauma and
adversity – also find a way to
rebound from setbacks. It is because
with or without our consciousness,
those hard times thought us to build
our own resilience. Other than that,
difficult times might help us to figure
out what matters most to us and what
doesn't. Make a list of the things that
are most important to us – our loved
ones, our acquaintances, our
professional life. With that, we will
discover what is truly essential to us,
what we are passionate about, and
what we really care about.

CONCLUSIONS
Upon exploring the situation from
multiple perspectives, going through
difficult experiences surely may help one
develop a powerful soul, a strong
mental, and a committed heart – making
one a stronger person. Life is full of love
and happiness, even in the midst of the
world's war. It is a part of us. Everyone
goes through difficult times, and
someone is going through it right now.
We have the ability to deal with
adversity more effectively. Take
something away from these lessons and
you'll be more prepared for life's tiny
hiccups!
